I thought it was good too. Would have been cool to watch at an IMAX with @jlprk if you catch my drift.
Should I be outraged? https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ting-disqualified-china-wins-gold/6674558001/ Team USA disqualified after review, allowing China to win Olympic gold in mixed team short track relay BEIJING — There are few sports at the Winter Olympics more chaotic than short-track speedskating relays. And on Saturday night at Capital Indoor Arena, the event offered plenty of drama, too. Team USA appeared to have secured an improbable berth in the four-team final of the mixed team relay after narrowly finishing second in their semifinal heat, one spot ahead of speedskating superpower China. But in the aftermath of the race, a judge reviewed video footage and ruled that the U.S. had committed an infraction. The Americans were disqualified, and the Chinese were elevated to the final. They went on to win in a photo-finish to claim their first gold medal of the Beijing Games. U.S. skaters, meanwhile, were left trying to unpack what happened. "Apparently one of our teammates crossed the blue line, and that made the Chinese team miss their exchange or something like that," said Maame Biney, who skated in the first heat but was not on the ice for the semifinal. "It was an interesting call, for sure. But it is what it is."
Women’s Snowboarding finals tonight were pretty badass. New Zealand stole the gold medal (from the US) on the very last run of the night with a crazy impressive run.
Had the games on all day. Caught some biathlon (had to explain that one to my kid), mixed doubles curling (the Italians are unstoppable!), team ski jumping, and women's speed skating. Nice background noise during the work day.
Remember when Laura Ingraham told LeBron James and Black athletes generally who spoke about social justice to shut up and dribble? Another Fox mouthpiece, Maria Bartolomo, is outraged. But not at Ingraham. She falsely attributed the quote to Nancy Pelosi addressing US Olympic athletes. Even though it doesn't make sense since basketball isn't played in Winter Olympics. What Pelosi actually said was to caution US athletes to remember that Constitutional protection doesn't exist in China. But who needs facts?
You're starting to worry me, I feel like we should start a GoFundMe so you'll have enough pearls to clutch.
