At this point I think Chauncey is a really talented defensive coordinator but not really a needle moving head coach. I think he has all the right intentions and just not enough of a playbook or sense of sense of the endgame to actually excel at head coaching. We could do better but I don't think they'll pay him for years left on his deal like they did Terry Stotts.

I asked if you wanted to fire another coach. That is not bringing up Stotts. That is asking if you want to fire the current coach Chauncey Billups.

You don’t seem to understand how the internet and Twitter work?
That conversation is there for all to read.
You got it way wrong as usual.

What is "another" in reference to then?

Yeah, I literally read it back while making this post. I have a question: why did you make a conversation I was having about the Blazers offensive lulls about an argument you and Eric had a month ago?

You are right. I should not have done that. I also should really not put you in that position.
    I apologize.
I’m going to leave it at that. Seems like we should be talking basketball like you have said.
Take it easy Bones. Wish you both all the best.
    Peace out.

All good, appreciate the apology. I was a participant in this forum before my platform existed, at this point I try and keep the two separate and just talk ball.

It’s still a good forum. I need to keep myself in check at times and try to keep it that way.
Glad you are a part of it.

So the people who wanted Stott's fired now want Billups fired? Whatever happened to the, "anybody is better than Stott's crew"?

They'd both compliment each other if they worked together actually, one is a top offensive coach and one is a top defensive coach. I like Chauncey's culture but he's gotta get on a winning track going into year 3...by then you're no longer supposed to be a rookie coach or somebody "learning" how to coach. I don't think he'll be fired at all but his record is pretty anemic at this point.

My man….. Phil Jackson isn’t leading this team the past 3 years to anymore wins than Billups did.

Jackson only coaches teams that have two or more hall of famers.

He would not have tanked and Lillard would have never sat out, CJ Elleby would have never sniffed the court either. Different culture. Chauncey has a mountain to climb as a head coach so you're dangling a false equivalency here my friend.

That makes no sense. You are making a claim about how shitty the roster of this team is, and it is. But there is more to basketball success than just roster construction.

I absolutely believe a better coach would have been able to extract more from that team. Hack, Billups would have if he did not have the carte blanche to coach to a system instead of a roster.

The Blazers have not been devoid of talent completely, they had sub-par talent, but the results were compounded by a system that did not play to the strength of that sub-par roster.

    So,

It is a combination of roster, system, chemistry and more.

What is obvious with CB's teams is that:

    1. He coaches defense to a system. The Blazers have for the first time, roster that can compete using that system - so one should expect this year's team to be better defensively. They have been in the very short sample we have, the proof, as they say, is in the pudding - so let's see how it goes as the years goes on.

    2. His offensive system is not very creative, especially in the half-court. I am certain there are better systems to implement, offensively, even with the talent the Blazers have/had.

Coaching wouldn’t have mattered in the won total over the past 3 seasons.

I hope you're not a gambling man because you'd lose a fortune on that bet. Every head coach in the league knows all the vets and their tendencies or they're just not prepared. Chauncey is still talking about getting to know players when he should know everything about these guys. He's no longer a rookie and he's blown a lot of games being a rookie. Sorry to burst your bubble but good coaches have winning records consistently. Chauncey hasn't had one ....ever. He is still talking about how he's unfamiliar with Ayton...I don't want to hear that from a coach. I hope Chauncey turns into a winning coach that's for sure but he hasn't earned that tag yet.
