I swear this is deja vu from two years ago with Norman Powell and his free agency.

He has normally got many great deals for his clients.

I'd say with Ben Simmons he screwed up that situation big time though, overplayed his hand, it totally backfired. Yeah maybe Ben had lots of issues and confidence problems too - but your agent should be helping you minimize those weaknesses and maximize your strengths, not get you in a terrible situation you regress.

All he had to do was the Harden in Houston or Kawhi in San Antonio thing where you show up at half speed, walk through the motions, and complain about insignificant nagging soreness to sit out.

    Third year an option?

Yeah, I'd probably rather have Cam.

Okay….. but how many hours to chop down the other trees and then level the land and then set the foundation and then frame and then do all the other shit to build a finished house?

Anyone that takes 6 hours to chop a tree down is concerning.

You ever try to cut down a tree with a dull axe?

Spending 4 hours sharpening it is actually necessary.

Portland has 113M in guaranteed salary. If you add in the rookies, Scoot-Murray-Rupert, the Blazers would be at 127-128M with 12 players. Subtract Knox, and they are at 124-125 with 11 players. Their 3 primary free agents are Grant, Thybulle, Eubanks.

at this point, it's worth noting the tax line is around 162M and the Apron is around 169M. If the Blazers want to use their full-MLE, they can not, for any reason, go over that 169M apron. So effectively, cap-holds are irrelevant. What counts is committed salary

now, say Grant signs a deal with the first year at 27M. Portland is now around 151-152M in salary. Say Thybulle at 5M and Eubanks at 3M. Blazers are at 159-160M with 14 players. Only 9-10M below the apron. So it would be a challenge to use the full-MLE instead of the tax-MLE

Obviously that could change quite a bit if the Blazers sent out more salary in trades than they brought back. But I'm not sure Portland is in any position to be salary-dumping players

at this point, without some really significant trades, I can't see Portland in a position to use their full-MLE. No chance at cap-space. Keep in mind that the Blazers still have an 8.3M TPE too. If they simply use the tax-MLE, they keep alive the option of using that TPE

    Depends on the effin' tree.

We had taken down a big leaning pine too close to the house this winter, it was also above the power lines. The tree guys had to land this monster between the house, a shed and avoid any of the utility lines. It was a ballet of danger and they nailed it. Took them about a whole day to get to that...

So the plan is to pay a 33 year old malcontent with an anger problem 100 mil? That leash he has with NBA refs playing for GS is gonna be shortened a lot in Portland. This is gonna be like having Sheed without the skill. I would expect an ejection record is set.

There's a difference between a Blazers' management plan and Dame's statement that re-signing Grant and signing Green would be a perfect situation for him. A. Green is most likely going to re-signed by the Warriors, B. the Blazers don't have cap space to sign him, and C. the Warriors are pretty unlikely to cooperate in a sign-and-trade deal to facilitate Green moving to the Blazers. Doesn't sound like much of a plan to me. I swear the logical inconsistency of this place at times is incredible. One minute people are claiming the Blazers are intentionally lying to Dame and doing the exact opposite of bringing veteran talent in, and in the next they're complaining that Cronin is caving to Dame's demands. Crazy.

Yeah, I would tend to agree. He has never been a good 3pt shooter, is he still an elite defender? I don't know the answer.
His rebounding is good but not great, but he does offer some intangibles, but will he for another team? We really just need an elite rebounder at forward to play next to Grant

Eubanks earned himself a decent/fair contract.

I can't understand why Harrison Barnes isn't being talked about more as a keep-Dame-happy target. Is it because Sacramento is a lock to retain him? Or is it because he's not a "sexy" name?

Maybe this might give us more of a chance to land him:

Talking about Draymond is a waste of breath. We can't afford him and he wouldn't consider us. Cronin knows this, so even mentioning him is just disingenuous.

We'd better trade Jerami to Cleveland then because that's the only way he's playing next to Mobley. Mobley is probably among the top 15 most untouchable players in the NBA right now.

The question is, "who's a great young player we have absolutely zero chance of getting?"
