Gas was closer to $3 a gallon compared to $4 like it is now. Groceries significantly cheaper. I’m spending $400-$500 more a month on gas & groceries than I did in 2019. That’s less money I have to spend on other things that boost the economy & support local businesses.

RFK Jr would have beaten Trump, Tulsi Gabbard would have beaten Trump, if the DNC got behind either one. But the Demorats expelled them from their party, and persecuted them into the arms of Trump.

 

I think it's going to take a seriously charismatic and inspiring woman to get elected. Obama, for all his faults, was just a fantastic candidate. That's not Hillary or Harris. They're too polarizing. This was not the time to roll the dice. They didn't want to be seen as racist or misogynistic by passing over her, and it was their undoing.

 

Seriously man... are you forgetting why/when the prices spiked? It started with COVID and the companies decided to be greedy as fuck. That's not on the President.

in 2016, Clinton won the popular vote by 3 million. She won the popular vote (discounting 3rd party) 51.1% vs 48.9%

but Trump won the electoral college 306-232. Overall, he only had 45.9% of the popular vote but won 56.9% of the electoral college. That's a totally broken and inherently corrupt system. The conventional wisdom is that a Democrat has to win the popular vote by 4 points in order to overcome the Republican advantage in the electoral college

again, in 2020:

* Oregon - 4.2M people - 7 electoral votes

* Idaho-Alaska-Montana-Wyoming-N & S Dakota - 4.2M people - 19 electoral votes

none of those states would elect a liberal woman president

A GOP government sweep is going to help the rich and fuck over the consumer....don't fool yourself into thinking corporations are liberals. Home Depot is a huge MAGA donor. I only hope they don't fuck with my VA benefits or Social Security at this point. A GOP win is an excuse to jumpstart an apolitical chapter in my life...I'm going fishing tomorrow. Feel bad for civil rights progress...that's going to take a big setback....you can't compare 2019 dollars to 2024 dollars....50 cents in gas prices isn't going to alter your life other than you might make your trips count more. It's not worth losing freedom of choice over.
