We could argue a better record with a different coach.
I think more likely first hire will be a mediocre team.

True. I'm just not sure if we had what it would have taken to keep Dame.

And honestly, if we weren't able to keep Dame thw record was going to suck for years. I'm almost certainly both Hammon or Staley would have been able to get us more wins than Billups. But would that be enough to be considered a success? Or would she take the blame for Dame leaving?

Just not a good situation. Same reasons an established NBA coach wouldn't look at it, honestly.

Man it's so nice to see post play back in basketball with Zach Edey. So beautiful to watch the footwork.

Why is Clingan considered a much better NBA prospect than Edey?

CBS sports has Clingan as a top 5 pick.

That's why I asked the question... why is that? What is he way better at than Edey?

Watching Edey now, I don't see him translating much to the NBA game. Not buying it.

That would be an interesting reason to draft someone!

Purdue woukd be better to get other players involved in offense.

That's my understanding, but my question continues to go unanswered: Why?

Cant judge Clingen on this game alone his guards have scored 50 And Purdue 14.

Good game plan by UConn keep other players from contributing offensively.

Better shooter, better defender, faster, still 7-2. Has a better motor. Higher BBIQ.
    Does that help?
I still don’t think he’s much better than a late first round pick.

    Clingan is all those things?

They both seem like big, slow, non-3pt shooting threats; neither seems like ideal PnR defenders. Edey plays all game, Clingan plays half the game, so I would hope he plays harder. I'd assume if the two swapped teams, UConn would be as good or better and Purdue would almost certainly be worse.

What makes Clingan's basketball IQ superior? I've watched them both play about 8-10 times and I'm not seeing a significant difference. Obviously I'm missing something though!

If we wait tell the draft we will see how the experts view them both. One is a mid to first rounder the other second rounder my guess?
