I still like RealGM as well. Here is good, too. I still read BlazersEdge articles, but changed my password to random keystrokes and copy pasted to confirm. I don’t read comments or get tempted to respond or read any story that might be controversial. Learned my lesson when too many on that board became an intolerant echo chamber lacking any ability to have an honest, rational conversation that differed one iota from their world view. It was temporarily depressing to exit that ‘community’ of Blazers fans. Jump the shark time. As to Marang, I don’t know him nor do I listen to him on the radio. JackedRamsays with him and Sprague is worth my time. His Patreon is, so far, worth the month to month subscription. Maybe I wouldn’t if I’d had experiences some of you have talked about. It was pretty hard to listen to Cat Steven’s music after his ‘death to America’ days … still is, I suppose, but I try to separate the two. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t always work with some people. I unignore here on a regular basis, and it’s often worth it. … back to the thread title … The Blazers will make a trade during the draft … of Ant.
His reach....he's not a rim protector at all at this point though so it's not something that sways me or changes my opinion of him much.
You have to be under the rim to protect it. What about perimeter defense? The scouting breakdown video that showed his defensive ability on the perimeter was surprisingly impressive. Then he weighs in at 217 (instead of the 203 listed) with a standing reach of 9'2"and all of a sudden you have the potential makings of a solid PF, who will easily reach 225-230 while being able to defend inside and out. I am not saying to take him at 7 but if they did I would not be as disappointed. I am disappointed though that he won't be there at 14 anymore.
true....he doesn't appear to use his length for shot-blocking: but 1.8 steals per36 is impressive. Perhaps meaning he has good reactions in passing lanes and defending the dribble. The 33% 3ptFG conversion rate isn't much of a worry. The 42.5% 2ptFG rate is more of concern. But 77% FT's are encouraging I'm not sure he'll be a good bet at #7. But the Giannis-lite upside potential probably means he won't be there at #14
Think all the 7 footers we've tried to develop in the last 7 years or so. A few guys from Kentucky and they are known for producing bigs and others. Salaun may appear to be a beast but he's pretty raw at this point. He's at least 3-4 years away from possibly becoming a good player. I'd rather roll the dice on Ware even if we have to move up from 14 to get him. He has a more complete inside out game at this point, imo. But what do I know Im just an old fart on a roundball (one word) lay it out there forum....
Disregard what I said about Ware above, just watched a recent draft profile of him and he's a bit soft posting up. Besides we have two centers already. Maybe trading up from 14 to get Salaun? Not sure I want to use 7 on him. Holland, Williams at 7.
Yet the mock draft from that same link has Ron going 9th to Memphis. Interesting that it also projects Kyshawn George to Portland at 14.
I just realized Kyshawn George's dad is Deon George. He went to St. Francis of Pennsylvania. He's been at my house for dinner more than once. Cool.
One would think the Nets might want to start over and move Bridges. Maybe they swoop in and grab Castle before SA does at 4.
