I miss the days when the GMs would cheat and announce their deals in the first minute of free agency. I also liked it happening at midnight.
Point: Counterpoint: Is there ANY way they can take on Jerami? Maybe they'd be interested in Matisse? [Edit: looked at their roster and the answer is no. They could legit use Banton, though.
I just don't know how you build around Scoot and Shaedon while maintaining Ant's value at the same time. If you're building around Scoot and Shae then you have to ask Ant to take a step back on offense and I can't imagine that would be good for his trade value. I said on draft night that Joe talking about seeds planted most likely means that he has multiple contingencies with multiple teams to move Ant and Jerami based on what happens in free agency. I also said that I didn't think that either would be traded until the big name free agency situations were resolved. Both guys have to completely change from the way they were playing last season in order to execute what Joe and Chancey have said they want to do in the last week. Both guys have to reduce their roles significantly one just entering his prime and the other probably just past the middle of his. I've never seen clearer writing on the walls than mentioning building around Scoot and Shae in back to back pressers and just saying nothing about Ant after only talking up Ant all last season. Jerami will probably be moved because he's one of the best two way players available on the trade market. For that matter Ant has value too. I still think guys that can contribute to wins now have more value to teams trying to win now than they do to us.
the GM listed off 27 scouts and trainers. Joe may have been named out after delivering a flurry of employee of the week stickers.
I could see them being interested in Tisse but probably not sending much back in return. KCP going to Orlando really fucks them up a bit. They don't really have the salaries that aren't core players to match in a trade to replace him. Even with him and Reggie Jackson gone they don't have cap space those two leaving may barely have them out of the luxury tax but I don't think so. It's really close but I think the cap holds on open roster spots will keep them in the tax.
Nope. They can just afford somebody earning $8M or less because Zeke Nnaji is their only tradeable asset.
One might say they're complementary and that Orlando still hasn't addressed their biggest problem that they don't have a player who can create his own perimeter offense. I think we'll be waiting to see with Ant and Jerami for a few more days at least but I just don't think the team can do what they said about building around Scoot and Shae while simultaneously maintaining the trade value of Ant and Jerami. I know that's beginning to sound like a broken record from me but it's something that's on my mind every time someone says that they expect either of those two or even one of them to be on the roster this upcoming season.
Does this mean they're definitely getting Paul George? The Spurs are looking to sign people like Chris Paul and Tobias Harris, so maybe he'll end up there.
what's the chances Ballmer trades for Miles Bridges, and puts both wife beaters in the same lineup ??
