    Blind support? It's a fucking sports league. I support my team.. I hope for the best. I don't spend hours and hours of my life on it and then complain about how much I hate it over the last like 10 fucking years.

    It’s a corporation just like ENRON and Monsanto and Philip Morris. Or do you trust all corporations to do everything above board?

    I root for my team to succeed. I don't root for the NBA. It's not a matter of "trust". It's a sports league. If you don't trust it then don't spend half your life following it, covering it, posting about it, tarting a podcast about it and watching it. Fuck off and enjoy life. But you can't quit it.

    They had the same shit happen to them a few times, iirc. I distinctly remember that happening again the year after Oden was drafted.

    Because I love the Blazers and hate the fucking NBA. I hate the commissioner. I hate the refs. I hate the Lakers. If we had another pro team maybe I would fuck off. But this is all we have. We pretend that all the corrupt bullshit with superstar treatment doesn’t exist in the hopes that some day maybe we will have the superstar that gets insane favoritism. I grew up with this shit and I can’t just quit it but I don’t love it as much as I did when I was a kid.

    Lakers traded for Anthony Davis months AFTER the Pelicans had the #1 pick.

    Freaking tin foil hat flat earthers around here.

    3 recent number one picks are all not in the playoffs now...Wemby, Zion and Ayton...it's a crap shoot folks. One of these guys should have started a dynasty already! Just draft well wherever you land and hope the system is winning, not just the rookie that's supposed to save the franchise. If it were fair the Wizards, and Nets should be getting top 4 picks but it's a crap shoot.

    I have to agree with you on this one there is definitely some fishy shit going on. Did they rig maybe not but I definitely put the odds higher than 1.8% that they rigged it. Hell we had crooked refs at one point. NBA was having horrendous viewership this year and we are talking huge money with no signs it was going to improve next year. Think it would be foolish not to at least consider it was rigged

    Let's evaluate some of the probabilities of this occurring though.

    2025 Dallas -> 1.8%
    2023 Spurs -> 14.0%
    2019 Pels -> 6%
    2015 Wolves -> 25.0%
    2012 Pels -> 13.7%
    2011 Cavs -> 2.8%

    Most people don't understand the probabilities very well. EVERY time there was a clear-cut #1 prospect, they were sent to a team that had just lost their star (outside of Spurs).

    That Texas three step is going to be rough!
    Dallas - adds #1 Flagg
    San Antonio - Wemby plus #2 ?
    Houston - playoffs plus #10 ?

    Wemby will be in probably next year

    Pelicans are in the lowest tier of teams that the NBA doesn't care about. The Suns got to the finals then got screwed over by their GM. Now, of course Ayton is on the Blazers where will never win anything. Though, he might get moved to the Lakers or something and get his.

    The NBA is run by the 30 owners. Those owners are Adam Silver boss. Yeah thinking they'd have some conspiracy to help one freaking franchise is insane.

    Look at what happened when the league had direct control of a franchise. They vetod a trade of CP3 to the Lakers. Went out of their way to stop superstar from joining the Lakers. Look at the 2nd apron rules and countless other things to artificially help small markets.

    Yeah I think your opinions are beyond delusional and completely irrational.

    Now people are saying Zion was rigged too, and NBA fixed to get the Spurs Wemby. Both tiny markets. Pelicans won the lottery prior to Davis trade. I swear no matter what happened youd be crying about some conspiracy.

    I love that you’re comparing a scientifically proven fact that the earth is round because we have been to space and we have photos…. To something that is controlled by a corporation and directly impacts revenue.

    What is the benefit of lying about the earth being flat or round? Who gains from that? Now tell me who gains from Luka in LA and the Mavs getting the #1 pick?

    A better comparison would be Fox News… do you think they only tell the truth? Do you like to watch Fox? Do you think they’re a trustworthy news station? Are they your favorite?

    They have no real control over what Silver and the league does.

    Stern overrode that trade not to make the owners happy, but to try and make the New Orleans team, new to the league relevant.

    I think the 30 owners like to make money and have a successful league. Viewership is way down from the 90s. Progressively worse over the past 30 years.

    Well your displaying the critical thinking of one... So seems to me to be about as useful to our country as being a Trump supporter.
