I would not worry about having too many. He won't be ready for at least another year. In my mind, it really just comes down to their
goal for Grant. Long term we need at least 3 good forwards to get big minutes. (plus 2 more for spot minutes when/if everyone is healthy)
Tou, Deni, and Bryant would work if Grant were moved.

A lot of pointing out prospect's "upside" and few discussions of their severe downsides, so your link was refreshing. With all of the positively, though, I'm hoping the Blazers get Two 1sts this draft. A combo of Carter-Bryant and Richardson would be very, very interesting.

I heard Tayshaun Prince/Shawn Marion as a comp to Noa Essengue. They think he's going at #9 to Toronto. He's my favorite but I don't think he's gonna be there. Guy makes an impact without any plays. That's super intriguing.

I have Noa being taken before Carter Bryant and Bryant before Coward.

Someone compared Carter Bryant to Shane Battier?

    A more athletic Battier.

I think that is a little high for CMB as well. I do like that mock scenario, though. Not that Egor would be my first choice at 11, but rather that the ones I do prefer are all still there.

I like doing the comp game, but people always think you are saying your prospect will be your comp pick. I just comp guys in their similarities and styles, not the finished product. There are very, very few givens in judging young guys and where they be. Plus, there is almost always some qualifier, too. "A taller version of", " tougher version of" etc.
My comp for Essengue is Holmgren (not Mike). Isn't the shot blocker like Chet, yet. But, it's pretty easy to see Noah eventually add some blocks to his game.

I asked ChatGPT to list who the Blazers will draft:

    Derik Queen

Was it really worth killing trees for that?

That's not a new mock. Its just doing comps for the lotto picks based on their May 19th mock. They even link that mock in the article. Should be seeing a new actual mock soon though.

A mock draft with trades I’d imagine some would like to see happen

Yeah, this is the type of idea that will get too many fans' hopes up....only to be crushed on draft day.

    Saying this for years
That would be phenomenal if it happened. The player with the most offensive upside in the draft and a guy I think is a pretty safe bet to be at least a solid-to-good pro, and the Blazers give up two players that really don't fit into their plans. George probably doesn't play much and eventually gets dealt. The Blazers learn and like wind up in the 2026 lottery.

Obviously, it probably doesn't happen, but I don't think it CAN'T happen. I don't live that far from Philly. I know there are some calls for them to blow it up. Philadelphia teams don't blow it up, even if they should. The fanbases there won't allow it. There'd be riots. This is the kind of trade they could sell to their fanbase. so it isn't totally out of the question, even if it's very unlikely.

Philly lived through "The Process" not too long ago.... Yes, the fans will allow it.

Givony and Woo argue over their mock drafts for ESPN.com

Some surprises: Harper drops to 4 for Givony (Spurs take Knipple), both have Queen going to the Raptors at 9 and Essengue dropping past us. We end up with either Emin or Jakucionis, with neither writer seeming particularly interested.

The Athletic have finally brought out their yearly draft guide

Looks like we'll get a player in their "4" range:
