Just sayin, Dame put up a 9.5 PER with 35% FG and 30% from 3 in the playoffs this year. Turner/Mo weren't much better.
Neither Turner nor Meyers are prima donnas that demand to start when they don't deserve it. I'll gladly take an extra year of Meyers waiving a towel from the end of the bench over one excruciatingly painful year of Carmelo sucking up 32 MPG and starting. Besides, it's not like this is the ONLY way to dump those guys. This time next year, they will be expiring contracts who may be movable elsewhere. BNM
Apples:Oranges. NOP was trapping Dame with two 1st team All Defense players. Melo was the 3rd option on OKC and bricking all kinds of open shots. Not the same thing. BNM
I’d take an extra year of both over Carmelo. Dude is a primadonna, cancer to team chemistry, and an increasingly worse basketball player. I wouldn’t trade ET for him, all things being equal.
A very fat and highly underpaid Mexican version of Qyntel Woods with a wife that puts up with way too much, apparently....
If Simons was going to be the #5 pick next draft, why did he enter this draft? He would have lost one season of salary, if he went to college. But he would make about 3 times as much as the #5 pick vs pick #24 money.
I think he was the #5 high school prospect. Things change a little after a year of college, so he was never just the "#5 pick".
You're trippin. Dame's shot is probably just as low and that was a knock on him coming out of college. This kid will be fine.
Trade Bob SUCKED at drafting. I'll let this speak for itself: https://www.basketball-reference.com/executives/whitsbo99x.html
Thanks for the response , but, we know this, plus it does not answer my question. Simons could have gone to another college. He was recruited by many schools, such as NC State, Florida, SC, & Tenn.
