Honestly, I won't be surprised if both our picks show really well in summer league. I know I will be watching every game to see how they look against some better competition.
I hope this one doesn't haunt us like I think it's going to. Even if it wasn't ever a real option, it at least appears to have been possible.
I Remember when i was 19 i was 1.87 Meter and now i'm 23 Abs Bonesjones will be sad, Blazers could have trade to get Hutchison
Yeah that was an opportunity for the Blazers to get Hutchison, but i'm okay with Simons right now, kid has big Upside and some Dame and CJ in his Game
I think we are looking for impact players, whether they are veterans who are already impact, or kids who have a chance to be impact players. So I feel a lot better about this pick than the Trent pick.
It will be interesting to revisit the draft after free agency. If we sign an SF or PF (moving Aminu back to the 3), then it wouldn't be helpful to pick a rookie SF.
Seeing "flip-flop" reminds of something. He says this year that when you are drafting in the mid to low 20's that you gotta take a chance and go for highest possible ceiling. Then what was he doing last year when he picked Swanigan? Swanigan might eventually turn out to be a good roleplayer but i don't think there is anyone who would predict more than that from him.
Maybe hewas criticizing himself in his comments about drafting for someone to have an impact now, and they're likely out of the leaguein a year?
