It does happen. When I graduated from high school I was 6'1". When I hit 25, I was 6'4".
when i was 45 i was 5'6 1/2", 15 years later, 5'61/4". am afraid to change doctors cause they will want to measure me again, lol
How tall is CJ?
Would he have been a top ten pick if he had gone to Louisville and not been a complete dud there? Troy Brown was nothing special at Oregon at all and managed to be a 15th pick.
It's pretty cool we got a top ten pick level player where we did.
Same height as Simons, but with a 3 " less wing.
My sources say, Yes.
Troy Brown looked good in SL
It was somewhat rhetorical. I was trying to point out that CJ is listed at 6'4", is listed as a SG, and is exactly the same height.
Yeah I figured that. I just wanted to emphasize.... again.... that Simons has an above average length for his height. Once he fills out a little bit and gets stronger, his size will be fine for a SG.
Some examples from NBA players that i know of:
-David Robinson was 6′7″ when he got recruited by the Navy .
-Dennis Rodman Was only 5' 10" when he graduated high school (as per his IMDB page)
-Scottie Pippen grew from 6'1 to 6'8 after high school.
-Paul George was 6'7 when he got drafted and grew to be 6'10. (bullshit?)
-Giannis grew from 6'8.5 to 6'11 after he was drafted.
I guess there are many more examples from players who were less famous.
Really like Simons, but right now he has ZERO assists in 3 games. We're starting to enter Yinka Dare territory (for you old folks).
Regarding Simons' lack of assists, I wouldn't be concerned. He's not playing much point, he's not being called upon to create for teammates a lot at this point and he's not forcing up a ton of horrible shots while missing open teammates. Considering his lack of seasoning, this is a very minor thing to be worried about.
Regarding Simons possibly growing a bit, I think he might, and it isn't because he's 19. It's because he looks like he is 14. He doesn't appear close to physical maturity yet.
...because you don't expect him to play. I do like what he's shown so far, though.
I was going to write pretty much what @PCmor7 just wrote but ran out of mental energy.
He played with Baldwin today who is controlling the games. Everyone else just needs to get open and score.
People always used to bitch about ZBO not passing as well. I'm good with a 19 year old rookie in his first summer league just focusing on scoring.
