I'll be surprised if Simons plays more this year than Caleb did last year

If he went to college next year he would likely be a lottery pick next year according to scouts. Instead he will get a full year training at a professional NBA team and possibly G-League experience, so he will probably get even better.

I don’t get the hate for this pick at all. It’s a no. 24, you are hardly getting a ready made star there. It’s better to turn to a high upside guy than take someone who’s more mature but has a rather low ceiling.

But yeah we should have traded this pick for Courtney Lee or Trevor Booker. That would have solved all our problems. VETERAN HELP.

To me this says Bazz is gone so Simons could get Baldwin backup minutes and Baldwin gets Bazz minutes

I don't want to be fine. Fine is getting swept out of the playoffs in the first round as a #3 seed. We want a chance at a title.

You can’t honestly make that statement considering none of us have even seen him play outside of maybe a YouTube clip.

Highly doubt when Lillard went to Paul Allen wanting help, this is what he was asking for. justsayin

This is just a bench draft pick....we will not look the same come training camp....don't get too swept up in championship angst in the west quite yet...I'll be happy to get to the WCF at this point

"I feel like I'm ready for the moment," Simons said after his first workout in Portland. "I feel like I'm able to hold my own against these older guys. If all fails, I know I can make shots. I know I can have a spot on the court."

This has been talked about before but he could be another Collins. Not expected to play but if he gets a shot he’ll be too good to take off. His “weaknesses” seem primarily physical, but unlike Zach he’s not banging with giants.

Its not about the kid it seems.. Its about other factors. I see the difference.

Disappointed that we took Simons with Elie Okobo and Khyri Thomas on the board. Reminds me of last year when we took Zach with Mitchell still on the board but I'll take a wait and see approach because if him and Zach turn out to be good players then we're fine.

It's a little weird drafting projects in Collins and Simons the last two years after all the timeline talk. I don't mind that but it doesn't line up with the alleged direction.

    I guess I'm just confused.

Lets hope. He might not be smart enough to play though. He didn't play any college ball.
