http://www.nba.com/article/2017/10/...-2017-18-season-warriors-cavs-thunder-rockets David Aldridge asks 24 questions before the start of the season. Blazers come in at 13. Anyways thought it was a good read. Also thought we could ask our own questions and get out last thoughts before the season.
Interesting that he starts off by mentioning DEN as one of teams that went all in by signing Paul Millsap to a huge contract, but then predicts we will be the 5th seed in the West and DEN will miss the playoffs. Finally, a national writer who isn't drinking the Denver Kool-Aid. BNM
Actually, he said top four in response to the question, 4 in his rankings below, then clearly picks San Antonio (#5 seed) to beat us in the first round....
Oops, you're right. I somehow misread that as OKC as the 4th seed beating us as the 5th seed. Off by one in both cases. BNM
I don't agree that Denver went "all in". They signed a big name free agent in Milsap and lost Galinari. They will be lucky to get the 8th seed
I don't agree either. But DEN is mentioned as one if the teams that didn't just stand pat and conceded the West to GSW. He specifically says DEN "called and raised" by signing Millsap. BNM
Man at least post the write up. 13. Should we feel some kind of way about the Trail Blazers? I’m picking up what you’re putting down. A full season of the “Bosnian Beast” in the middle, it says here, will vault Portland into the top four in the West. Note I said “full season.” That means Jusuf Nurkic has to give coach Terry Stotts between 65-70 starts for the above premonition to be, as they say in the legal world, actionable. 1:50Play Jusuf Nurkic may be poised for a big season in Portland. If so, Nurkic’s underrated scoring and passing out of the post will only make Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum that much more deadly out front, along with improving Portland’s defense. Per Basketball-Reference.com, the Blazers were 11.6 points per game better than the opposition with those three on the floor together and a +5 when their regular five-man lineup with Maurice Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu joined the guards and Nurkic. And that’s pronounced, “Noor-kitch,” accent on Noor.
