They have a thing for Towns and I don't get it. Dame is a 93 at least but he is underrated in real life all the time so why would they give him a fair rating in a game? Jokic also has a stupid rating
Makes a lot more sense now. 1st Team All-NBS. 27/6/4 with a 59 TS%, and he's only a 90. Ridiculous. Meanwhile, CJs an 87. There's a bigger difference between those two than that.
Overall rating is not be and all of everything. Sometimes players get a higher overall and are not really better to play with than those with lower overalls but excellent at select few skills. Porzingis is probably my favorite player in the entire game and he’s like 87-88 for the last two editions. Westbrook is 93 but I hate playing with him. It’s about what they are good at more than what their overall is. Mitchell was 84 at best in the 2k18 yet was comfortably in my top 5 favorite players to use. Can’t wait for the game. Just 5 more days.
Overall is more than just play-ability though. Its affects simulations. And then there's the whole "respect" thing.
Not a career guy so I've been playing a bunch of 2KU. Some notables (playing on Superstar difficulty).... - Weight/strength seems to matter more down low. Rebounding and post game sequences seem to play out more realistically. Post game feels much more fluid overall. - Hand-offs are smoother. Rewarded for good angle and timing. Still wish the big would space more appropriately out of them though. I'm sure it's a tough thing to program. - Defense is better but CPU transition D is still pretty exploitable. Still some debacles in pnr as well but not as frequent. On ball D is much easier/rewarding to play. - Love that auto-contest is gone. Brings more skill into the game. Game seems to be reading contests better too. Last year a late close would register as a quality contest too often. - Jump shots are more responsive. Curry's release is also notably quicker. Off dribble shooting is a bit smoother too. - Loose balls actually feel loose. CPU had superpowers in these situations last year. - GSW's playbook is just nasty. Guys did a good job w/ their 5 out set. Had a tough time triggering their freelance though. Need some more time with it. - Game seems to favor execution on higher levels. CPU on ball D seems "stickier". 2k18 felt really loose in comparison. - Step back effectiveness seems greatly reduced. Good thing imo. You were able to create too much space too frequently last year. -Struggling to attack CPU closeouts in drive and kick situations though. Overall fluidity and explosiveness of the user offense seems reduced. I don't think it's at a realistic level right now, but until the CPU AI help D improves, it's probably in a pretty good spot for game balancing purposes.
So I’m curious, what platform are you guys playing 2k on? Have they backed off of the virtual currency at all?
I downloaded the prelude on Xbox one, just because I am very much in need of more basketball... My thoughts are the graphics seem a little meh. The game play feels alright. I’m scared to give 2k money for reasons I’ve listed out here, I think VC is garbage. I realize that doesn’t effect every game mode. I haven’t heard anything all that positive about nba live 19 kind of seems like it went backwards. So it feels weird but I may skip nba games this year which would be the first time in years. I am so ready for the NBA season to get here...
I’m having a really hard time getting the timing for jump shots down. I’m not saying that’s necessarily a ‘bad’ thing. I have looked into some of the franchise mode, and the myteam stuff, that seems less pay to win, I might pick it up and ignore my player. I like basketball way too much...
It’s true to be honest. Wish they had more competition though to push them further. Issue is nba live is years behind gameplay wise.
I am going to get NBA 2K19. I can live with most of the mistakes they have made. Aren't 13 players able to be active during an nba game? Nba2k only allows 12 to be active right? I think the rule is ridiculous that teams can't have all 15 players active. If your players are healthy you should be able to use them.
Apparently the covers of the NBA 2k games are cursed https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sb...7/22/16014184/nba-2k-cover-kyrie-irving-curse Giannis Antetokounmpo will be on the cover of 2k19
