The Colts IMO will have put all the drama & tragedy behind them. My intiition is telling me that Indy is ready to lay an Old Testament style a$$ whoopin on someone. I'm just sorry it won't be Denver.</div> If the Colts get out to a fast start on Sunday, it could be a long day for the Steelers, but after having so much time off, they may be a bit rusty. Bill Cowher is 100-1-1 when leading by 11 or more. So.... with that said, the Steelers need to start fast if they want to control the game and put themselves in a position to move on to the next round.
again hes jsut a qb yes but when the offense is playing good it inspires the defense to try to get the ball back for them. if palmer satyed in it would of been a shootout and everyone knows stelers cant keep up with shootouts. last time they tried to they lost to..... the bengals.
Would of should of could of.. The Fact is Pittsburgh was the better team Sunday and they won because of that.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>That's ridiculous. No one wants to have to throw the ball 60 times to win,</div> Martz does, but, then he's ridiculous. LOL

His thumb was in a splint and his knee was hobbled. Doesn't have those issues now. Will be a better game in Indy this time. We also have Marvel Smith back instead of a rookie Right Tackle. Big diff!
Pittsburgh were the better team but it would have been a different story if Cincy had not lost Palmer, you can not say it wouldnt because then the Steelers would not have been able to come up to stop the run as much cause there are very few people who throw a deep ball better than Palmer.
It would not have been a different story if Carson Palmer hadn't gotten hurt. WITH Carson Palmer, the Bengals were only 2-3 against playoff teams this year. The Bengals backed into playoffs with two straight losses. I can see getting beat by the Chiefs, but how do the Bengals let the Bills kick them IN CINCINNATI with a potential bye week at stake? The Bengals are much improved, but they are not as good as their hype. It boggles my mind how people can look at a team that lost it's last three games and say that if one player, even if it is the QB, hadn't gotten hurt then they certainly would have won. Stop falling for the hype and giving QBs too much credit for wins and losses.
I'm with you Dale, but even I will concede the fact that we just don't know what type of game it would have ended up being. But really, it's over, the Bengals lost and will have to work on putting a stronger defense on the field next season. Now the Steelers must do the unthinkable and go into Indy and try to upset one of the most prolific offenses in the history of the NFL. It can be done. And after a 3 week break for Manning and company they may not be hitting on all cylinders going into the game. The Steelers may not be as rested, but they are hitting stride. 5 wins in a row helps, but the 14 road wins out of their last 17 attempts is even more impressive. This isn't saying the Steelers will win, it's saying that they can win. I say Pittsburgh wins the close game. If Indy gets a two TD lead, it's about a 98% chance we don't come back. But I don't see that being the case at all.
sry ben healthy or not i dont see steelers wining because well indy has better offense and defense. they are both more aggresive then the steelers. Indy is going to win i call it now. its thier year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>I'm with you Dale, but even I will concede the fact that we just don't know what type of game it would have ended up being.</div> I will say this - that Randel El to Ben to (what was his name?) for a touchdown would have been 10 times more entertaining since the game was already decided IMO. They should've kept that play in their bag of tricks for the game against Indy. If Carson Palmer was in the game, only one thing would have been certain - the game would have been a lot of more interesting. No one's seen Palmer in the playoffs, he might be an absolute machine. For some reason I do not like Indy in the playoffs. I think they can win this weekend, but I really don't know if they will. Even if they do, I can't see them beating Denver (and Denver will beat the Pats this weekend).
I'm not trying to dog the Bengals. They are vastly improved and should be proud, but whenever they had a chance to come out and assert themselves, they lost. They couldn't beat the Colts, Steelers or Bills in Cincinnati during the regular season WITH Carson Palmer. The next step is for the Bengals to man up and start beating good teams with some regularity. Right now, it seems like the gods of football industry have turned their hype machine from Michael Vick and the Falcons, since they failed to make the playoffs, to the Bengals. The Bengals are a good young team, but they still have a lot to prove to me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (McChicken5)</div><div class='quotemain'>sry ben healthy or not i dont see steelers wining because well indy has better offense and defense. they are both more aggresive then the steelers. The Steelers finished 4th in overall defense, 16th against the pass, and 3rd against the run, while Indianapolis finished 11th in overall defense, 15th against the pass, and only 15th against the run. On offense, the Colts were 3rd in overall offense, 3rd in passing, and 16th in rushing. While the Steelers were 16th overall, 24th in passing, and 5th in rushing. Roethlisberger missed three games, and played two games hurt. So the Colts in actuality were better passing and therefore had a better overall offense. But the Steelers, in fact, had the better defense and runs the ball better. It will be a better game than most expect. The outcome might even surprise me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hoodie7)</div><div class='quotemain'>Actually the bengals beat the Steelers in their last regular season meeting</div> Good for the Bengals. That made Cincinnati 1-2 against the Steelers this season. The Bengals need to do better if they want to go the Super Bowl.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hoodie7)</div><div class='quotemain'>Actually the bengals beat the Steelers in their last regular season meeting</div> Yes it took a splint on Ben's finger and a hobbled knee to do it. Giving up 31 points to an injured QB is not getting it done. I'll say this once to make it clear so everyone knows my stance. Carson Palmer is a great QB.... GREAT QB, but you can't win games with such a bad defense. Bengals fans will talk all offseason how the game would have been different with Palmer in there, but the truth is no-one really knows what would have happened. Maybe, maybe not.....
Yea you can show me them stats and they do say alot but they say nothing for who is going to show up to this game. Yes it is verry bold but u have to think about it. Loosing to the pats 2 yrs in a row. Finnaly beating them in reg season and getting over that hump they are real emotional right now. Then dungys son dies thats gogint o make this team work alot harder considering this may be dungys last year. Not only that but just the fact that they were more aggresive then steelers when they played them offense and defense. Rothisberger may have been hurt but if u look at it he got sacked like 3 or 4 times that game. So hurt or not hurt they still would of won that game. Ben had a verry good game against the bengals but common now the bengals d was so bruised up it wasnt even funny. I will say again i just dotn see steelers winning this game just because how aggresive indy is on the ball. Steelers are goign to make it a better game then it is suppose to be but i dont see them winning.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (McChicken5)</div><div class='quotemain'>Yea you can show me them stats and they do say alot but they say nothing for who is going to show up to this game.</div> Yes they do give an indication about who is going to show up, players who consistently show up the most, produce the best stats. and teams with the most players who show up, produce the most wins.
