Never said that. But SHOCkER that is what you take from this. Pretty much explains it all. Nothing else to say to you.
Nash and Callahan would make the team more competitive, but we're just fooling ourselves if we don't face facts that there needs to be some decent revamping going forward, whether that's with mostly kids(who hopefully pan out) or mostly a few different FA. Even teams that pick in the 10-15 range are getting solid contributions from rookies every year, which helps average the cap. It basically comes down to not being too top heavy and nailing most of your FA. Sather hasn't nailed most of them. This roster is flawed at best, but there is hope if they cleanse it and replace some of it properly next summer. And no Chuck I'm not saying keep waiting and waiting and waiting, but that's the reality of having one of the bottom 10 rosters in the league. Definately bottom 5 without Nash or RC. Not even debatable.
The Nets have not passed the Knicks. The Nets will go down this year as one of the most overrated teams in the history of the NBA. Essentially they traded for 2 old farts and people made a deal about it. Nobody in their starting 5 other than Garnett plays any defense and even he isn't that good at it any longer. The Knicks in their starting 5 when J.R. is playing have 4 guys that can play defense at a very high level. I would not worry about the Nets at all. IMO, they will suck compared to what people think. The Rangers have nothing to worry about. They are a young team. The Yankees are the team that has to worry. They have no prospects and a bunch of old farts on the roster.
