Ummm... we still can be. We have 5 more road games remaining and we're only 4 games below .500.

As much as we bitch about our road record, it's just as bad as other playoff teams.

Last season, Utah, Denver, and Dallas were all 17-24 on the road. And this season, Houston, Utah, and Dallas are all below .500 on the road.

16-20 with games remaining at OKC, MEM, and LAC is pretty decent when you put it into to perspective with our opponents' records.

I agree with that. Although we haven't beaten a top-9 West team on the road (other than the CP3-less Hornets), that's just a next step in the natural progression for us next season.
We've already established a great home court. If we were great on the road, we'd have 55 wins and the No. 2 seed sewn up. I don't think anyone should've expected that.

Thank you yuyu. I don't bitch about our road record at all. Our road record has been great compared to where we've been. We were 13-28 last season. We're approaching .500 this year. Heck, the Blazers were only 14-27 on the road when we won the title in 77. 16-20 is a decent road record, better than most.

We still might finish with 55 wins and the no. 2 spot. And that would make us 21-20 on the road. This team hasn't gone on a big win streak this season. Maybe this will be it. Close the season on an 11 game win streak and go after a championship!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I agree. For this year and this team, it's perfectly decent and classes them in with all the second-tier playoff teams like Denver, Utah, New Orleans and Houston.

For Portland to become a top-tier playoff team (a truly legitimate title contender), they need to be able to win around 25% of their road games against other top teams. (Percentage drawn from the concept of being able to take at least one of a possible four road playoff games in a series.) Portland right now can win almost none of those. If they can raise that to 25%, they'll be a legitimate championship contender, IMO. If they can get it even higher (like 50%) they'll be a championship favourite.

All assuming they at least retain (preferably improve upon, of course) their home dominance.
