low level as in low level of talent or low level as in lower in the system... I read it as lower in the system, not necessarily low level of talent... if I misunderstood, my apologies...
The Yankees do have some talent in the lower minors that could be attractive. If they feel they have a few 'gold stars', I would not be so quick to move them, but let's face it - it could take several years for some of these guys to mature and become useful. I think we have learned that there are no guarantees at those levels. 3 years ago, many of us were told that the 'Killer B's' were untouchable and that they would all be pitching in the majors in 2013 - how's that going? My main point is that this team has holes to fill NOW. If they wanted to be sellers, they would not be trading for Soriano. So if they are gonna go there, they might as well address other needs. I used to view prospects a lot differently until I have seen how poorly the Yankees develop them. There is no substitituon for a guy who can play NOW if you are in a win NOW mode, assuming you are not trading a real blue chip for a guy in his 40's.
