Chet has zero injury history and being skinny at that size may actually be more beneficial to his joints than if he weighed a lot, but yeah the Blazer curse might claim another victim.
Who would you suggest they realistically trade the pick for? In recent years there have been numerous players in every draft that have provided immediate impacts, what makes you think that trend will end this year? Dame recently said he was looking at the Phoenix Suns model of drafting well as an example of how they could get better using the draft pick. What makes you believe he will then turn on this approach halfway through the season and go against every statement he's made this year about not wanting to leave? Lastly, depending on when Dame signs his extension, he may be ineligible to be traded this season anyway.
My Tall Lanky #1 Great White Hope just sheared a couple lug nuts and lost the wheel. Now we got to carry him around for three years and hope the docs can fix him. Regret for Chet!
good luck with the surgery I've never had knee surgery, but my wife has (replacement), my brother has (replacement), my nephew has, and a good friend has. So my observation is the first couple of weeks after surgery are rough, but it's critical you take your rehab and PT seriously right from the beginning....don't slack
