As unethical as it may be, the black dude still threw the first punch. They were both out of line, and sure the black dude may have been baited, but he was just as guilty and continued to pursue the argument and giving into the bait.

Criminal law varies by state, but self-defense often isn't needed to be proven when you win a fight. "Mutual combat" is a defense, and menacing can be considered a valid first move in a mutual combat. I'm no expert, but it seems reasonable that the mutual combat defense COULD be applicable based on the guy getting his his face, threatening him, while the old guy was sitting down. Ed O.
As idiotic as both of these guys are, I actually think the camera-women are more scums-of-the-earth than the guys. I can't comprehend these moronic women egging him on, taking video, laughing, hooting and hollering, taking the old-man's groceries, and basically thinking this was great entertainment and fun. The women with the camera should be thrown in jail as well.
I don't know how much value I would put into the girl who taped the whole thing. Hard to tell who was yelling, but it sounded like the girl taping the incident was trying to do what she could to provoke a fight ("say it again" "beat his white ass"). But some food for thought,I wonder how people whoild feel if the roles were reversed: if an old white guy was mouthing off and then shoved a young (relatively speaking) black guy and then that black guy proceeded to beat up the old dude . . . would people be prasing the black dude or think the young black dude should go to jail?
Well, I think the old white dude should go to jail... The white guy provoked the fight, egged him on, and then beat his ass. Whether or not that falls under self defense, he should be punished.
At first, that's what I thought was happening: the white guy antagonizing the black guy; I was like "oh jeez.. what's that jackass doing?" Things changed when the black guy kept going after the white guy. I kept thinking, "Dude, just leave the cranky old bastard alone!" When he hit the old guy, with the two idiot girls egging him on, all bets were off. Maybe my first blush reaction was the correct one, though... ...really, the girls were the worst of them all.
That's exactly what I thought. The dudes are clearly a little "off" upstairs, but those bitches knew exactly what they were doing and their actions disgusted me way more than the verbal confrontation/fight between the guys. Sickening.
Nah. Color aside, anyone beating up an old person isn't right. However, if the old dude was black and the "young" dude was white, and the black old dude beat up the young white dude, I wouldn't feel any different about the video.
What sad is the girl is now being interviewed like she is some kind of hero for getting this on tape. You can see her just see loving the fact that someone wants to talk to her about the incident she caught/created on tape. I'm with others who think the girls provoking this whole thing are the worst ones involved.
Being an "old person", I appreciate that. I saw two 65+ guys in a fight behind a bar one time. They had to stop to catch their breath every 10 seconds. They had their hands on their knees panting and calling each other names, then went back to it. Finally one guy tried a snap kick and fell down. The other guy was too tired to capitalize on it and the fight was over. If I have to fight, I'd prefer it to be another "old" person, but not someone the size of that white dude.
