Of course, the SARS outbreak happened in a country with socialized medicine ... chicken or the egg?

Also, tort reform wasn't even touched in ObamaCare, because the trial lawyers/ABA are heavy donors to Democrats. Can't kill that income stream, which is one of the GOP's plans to lower costs.

Actually SARS was distributed through an airline crew from Singapore to Hong Kong to Taiwan then to Canada. In the end, hand washing, masks and bleach killed it off in Taiwan.

If Obama didn't say that all 7 million were previously uninsured, then apparently lackeys will believe everything they are not told.

Critical thinking skills are on the decline. Nobody riding Obama's jock in this thread even brought up the 865k number that is "newly" insured; instead, Obama is gloating because 6 million people who couldn't keep their plan, as he promised, had to sign up for new plans via state exchanges.

I don't want to assume that many posters here are literally idiots, but man, it's hard at times. Basic math gives a more accurate answer. This is where I say the major media won't do the basic math, and will instead let the Clown in Chief celebrate signing up 865k people for some sort of plan, when the marketplace typically in a 6 month period yields nearly the same result.

meh..it is easier to regurgitate party line. No one wants interject reality into the conversation

It's scary how some of these people believe anything Obama says, even when he's literally been proven to be a blatant liar about his own law.

You got to admit is was a funny post. . . . you first said Obama didn't say something and then say lackey's will believe anything someone says.

As far as the "real numbers" I have 3 different sites that give three different set of "real numbers." I think each party has their own numbers guy that creatively comes up with numbers. But I agree that clearly there are not 7.1 million people who were uninsured but are now insured. I also think the jury is still out on how this whole Obamacare is going to play out.

The thing about basic math is sometimes you end up with a hanging chad result. My financial office messes up my paycheck and benefit package all the time, happens to be a die hard republican with 5 decades of accounting experience. That's no excuse. Whatever your political leanings are I'll say that my job of 12 years kept me a couple hours under the requirement to provide my wife and son coverage but I was fully covered with dental and health. Both my wife and son now have basic coverage through Obamacare and it was a painless process to apply and recieve it. I'm grateful they can get a tooth fixed now instead of just extracted and get a checkup if needed. Add that to your math list as a +1 for Obamacare

Another person who benefits is my ex-coworker. She has lupus and had to quit due to the disease. She has healthcare coverage through her husband, but her husbands company was being downsized in the US, and she feared what would happen if he is let go. Because there is no insurance company that would cover her if her husband were laid off. I don't know if she has switched over yet or not since her husband hasn't lost his job, but she told me it was a huge stress relief (stress is extremely bad to lupus patients) knowing that whatever happens she will now be able to get coverage.

It's just one anecdotal example, and I know there are examples on the other side of people paying more. But I know that I'm happy with the direction.

Sounds to me like money upsets you here as opposed to feeling protected that the neighborhood is healthy for your benefit. Being screwed by what? Other taxpayers? I'm a war vet, I don't need to know why it's invented

You like what Obama gives you. You fail to see that he takes away from someone else.
The net gain is stupid if there is a gain. Liberty has been lost as well as money by those
who are on the take a way side.

Well that's a lot of mud slinging if you ask me. I'm not being given anything. I work for a living and pay taxes. Our Obama care isn't free, we pay monthly but it's affordable. I'm a free man as well and my vision is fine. I didn't think we were on different sides in this country. Thanks for answering my question though.

the machine is up and running..the left have a desire to upset the GOP in the mid terms. The only way is to turn Obamacare into a positive. The multitudes swallow bullshit by the shovel loads and continue to smile.

I don't have kids, but I pay for schools. As I should, since I am part of the society. I don't have Lupus, or AIDS or any other major ailment, but the potential is there, and an individual can't afford to pay for these, which is why they have insurance. You are insured for things in a group for the same reason, so that people arent left out. You talk frequently about living Christ-like, well part of that is making sure that everyone is taken care of health-wise. If we have a system that doesn't leave people with preexisting conditions on the outside looking in, than you, me, and everyone else is going to have to share the burden. I don't want to pay for oil subsidies or a new military weapon, I pay for corn subsidies even though I don't eat corn. But over all, these are supposed to be how to efficiently run a society. There are problems with that, but to nitpick out that you don't want to help subsidize the healthcare of an AIDS patient cause you aren't likely to get it is to hone into the minutia instead of realizing that it has to be that way unless we want all AIDS patients to be homeless and end up living off the govt tits anyway (which you would still end up paying for in the long run).

I don't. Used to and miss it, but not on my diet and I'm twenty pounds towards my goal of a hundred, so I don't think I'll be eating any for a while. But I listen to corn, have corns on my feet and am frequently accused of being corny. I eat a cornucopia of other foods, am in a room with four corners and I scorn others at the drop of a hat. But alas, not a nib passes my lips anymore.
