I loves me the MTPO, but I gotta say THE best game for original NES is/was Tecmo Super Bowl.

Real NFL players? Wow. Injuries? Awesome.

Stats kept throughout the season? That was a big fucking deal, given the cartridge-based nature of the NES.

Hey, how about that "Pong" game? That was the best!

Funny how far technology has come. Tecmo was one of my favorites, I remember some long all nighters playing that game. As Maxie said pong was also a great game. Scarey to think what games will be like in 10-15 years.

Super Tecmo was awesome. I always hated the screen where both the receiver and the d-back jumped up for the ball -- the d-back always seemed to catch it. The celebration animation was also really hilarious. Check out this video -- man that Montana sure had an arm on him.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
As a lifelong 49ers fan, I can tell you that looked exactly like game film from the 1980s.

Ah, how I miss those 120-yard touchdown passes. :(

This is amusing to me. I worked in the video game industry from the early 1980s through the mid 1990s. I made games for coin op, consoles, and personal computers. Last game systems made games for were mobile phones, Game Boy Advance, and the Sega Genesis.

One of the owners of S2 did the original coin op defender, robotron, stargate, and numerous other arcade hits.

The guys on 95.5 this afternoon said Portland will be signing Shaun to a multi-year deal on Wednesday. Conflicting reports to say the least. I hope we sign him, he's worth a chance.

At worst, he's a 15th man. Livingston at 50% still >>>>> Von Wafer, our 15th man last year.

I guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed. I'd like to see the guy in a Blazers uniform, but if KP says no then he must really be in bad shape.

Sorry, quoted you so as not to put the same tecmo pic but BIONIC COMMANDO is the best game ever made for any console.

i dont think portland would be a good place for livy. they have way too much talent in the backcourt to ever have a perrennially injured pg to ever get the adequate playing time he needs to be productive/ helpful.

i was hoping livy would go to a place like miami, where when/if he got healthy he wouldnt have to be a scorer and dish assists to wade or marion. they also dont have a deep pg rotation like portland has

Yup, Super Tecmo Bowl was epic. That game set the standard. The 100 yard bombs, Bo Jackson as the Incredible Hulk, and Barry Sanders running circles around every player for an entire quarter was the best.

I was listening to Kenny Vanec on the way home and he thinks they will announce Livingston being signed tommorow.

His reasons were that when KP was asked Monday about SL, he said it was Rudy's day and they will address SL on Wed. Vance's figured if they weren't going to sign him they would have announced that on Monday and it would not have stole the thunder of Rudy in town. He had a second reason but now I forget (I'm getting old) but I remember thinking that I didn't buy that second argument.

But the first one makes sense to me.

Futurama F. Funny, I've had the same thought, but about Miami. Riley says he won't coach again, but he still has influence, and during his time, Miami has been tough on players. I would like Livingston to recover and play well, so I want him to go to a team with depth. I think he won't really be healthy for at least another year. I wouldn't want him to be in a position to have to play many minutes this year. Rather, something like McDyce (sp??) a couple years back with the Pistons.

I used to be a paramedic once upon a time, and believe me that made me ill to watch ... blood doesn't bother me, but seeing a horrific injury happen is bit different from cleaning up the mess.

What hasn't yet been touched on is the idea that we may very well be Livingston's first choice. For tiny, rainy, backwoods Portland to compete for a guy against sunny glamorous Miami shows just how far we've come in terms of our standing in the league.

Any NBA player that doesn't want to be a part of this right now really doesn't care about winning or is one year away from retirement.

I think Livingston has to follow the money. With his career significantly shortened and maybe even ended at this point, he goes where he can get the most money.

The thing is that he needs to be in a situation where he won't feel pressure to rush back. Portland is good for that.
