Do dull bulbs excel in academics? On top of being "funny and fun" dude had a 3.9 GPA in HS.

You're welcome to your opinion, but I think your speculation here is a huge reach based on pretty much nothing

I think he's referring to the grammar Greg decided to use in his blog. He may have used the same grammar in college, but that doesn't make him dumb. If you couldn't get past pre-cal in high school, would it be valid for me to call you dumb? Most certainly not, and the logic used here to insinuate Greg is a moron, is really quite ironic. Please find something more valid to gripe about ABM.

I'm not griping, I'm merely responding to the poster who called Greg bright. Getting a 3.9 in High School doesn't necessarily mean he's bright. That said, I've seen plenty of situations whereas athletes (especially gifted ones), unfortunately for them, receive free academic rides/passes.

Wow. Really? Welcome to the Y generation which has a large population that types like shit on the internet not because they're all dumb but because they're lazy when typing and it is faster for them not to make sure everything is correct. Or maybe he just isn't too bright with the English language - that doesn't mean he's stupid elsewhere or not bright overall. I know a structural engineer who has the worst spelling I've ever seen (he spelled Minnesota as minisoda as a serious spelling) but you know considering he is a structural engineer I doubt he's all that dumb.

There are several people on this board that have lazy writing styles but I wouldn't call them dumb because they can form articulate thoughts and present them in conversation. Considering we've all seen Greg do that in interviews and in his blog (although perhaps not spelled the best for whatever reasons) I'm pretty sure we can assess he isn't dumb.

Next thing you know we'll get a transcript of Greg's cell phone texting and see he texts messages as "how r u wanna go 2 the game 2night?" because it is faster and we'll come to the conclusion that it isn't because he's a 21 year-old but because he's just plain stupid. Because that is the most logical conclusion you see.

For the record, I never called Greg dumb. I merely responded that he wasn''t necessarily bright. There's a distinct difference between what you've apparenty implied, above, and what I had attempting to convey.

it's obvious why a reader would get that impression, thats what you wrote.
thats pretty clearly calling him stupid.

you make quantum leaps that the random notes in his blog (which he claims to crank out in the wee hours) equate to him being dumb and blow off an outstanding HS GPA as a reasonable counter. Okaly dokaly neighborino...

Perhaps the nerve is drawing ridiculous conclusions from random notes in a blog written by a 21 year-old. We often decry professional athletes for being out-of-touch with reality and not being enough of a 'normal' person - yet here we have one of the best known names in basketball being very real and very human in his blog that he updates about random things everyday fans do themselves - like watching trashy reality shows on TV.

And what do some of us do when he does that? Suggest he doesn't have his priorities straight because he ended a blog entry dedicated to an injury update and his rehab by saying he's watching a dance competition show on MTV and says he wants a certain team to win. Speculate that he may be dumb because of how he writes blog entries - the same way so many people his age write on the internet in casual settings these days.

Have we really reached the point where not only do we put their every move on a basketball court under a microscope, every move off the court (are they going to a strip club, oh my god are they drinking, oh my god did they go five miles over the speed limit, did they just buy two packs of smokes at the grocery store, did they really just order hashbrowns with that much gravy god they're going to get out of shape and fat!!!), but we're putting how they write as some sort of assessment of their overall intelligence and if at the end of a blog entry dedicated to their injury they mention something unrelated to basketball that they enjoy it means their priorities aren't straight?

I don't think that indicates their priorities aren't straight, but maybe it indicates that ours aren't.

My priorities are fine, thanks. :)

I simply stated my opinions on a relatively obscure internet basketball forum........and, if Greg happens to call me out on his blog for saying such, I'm fine with that.
