Thats the thing though. To be myself is to try to be funny. to entertain. How I did it though was by putting on a character that isn't myself at times.
I would argue that if your intention wasn't to offend or hurt, no reason to apologize because that wasn't your intent. If you intend to hurt somebody well then that's an obvious thing, you apologize after. It's all about context and intent, if you constantly give passes to those offended by nothing, then it becomes okay and that just means those people will think they deserve an apology for everything they get "offended" by
Well I did correct your understanding considering you don't really know how to understand. It's best I try my best to help you. Would you rather me be an asshole about it kind of like how you are doing? I could be "offended" right now by your response but I am not. I don't care. It's typical dviss behavior.
Apologies when there was no intent to offend or hurt are just good manners. It's the same thing when we say "Excuse me" when we bump into someone accidentally on the street or an elevator.
I can't believe people are reading into what I said too much but then again I can because every opinion I have on this forum is controversial in some way apparently. I mean shit, yeah that's obvious. Any adult knows these manners.
I don't know exactly what you said so I can't say with full confidence. I am just going off your character in general. I haven't seen you attempt to hurt somebody so that was my first thought
It's just like if you trip into or bump someone on accident, you didn't mean to do it but you still apologize.
Sometimes its best to just take the high road and apologize whether it was intentional or not. Sometimes it goes a long ways in the other entity understanding you. Sometimes without an apology, the misunderstanding continues. I no longer want this misunderstanding to continue. Will I lose my humor? Hell no. Will I continue to direct my humor at people in a narcissistic, condescending way around here? Hell no. If I am going to insult someone for comedy sake, it will only be people I know they know I am joking, or it will just be myself. Really this mostly has to do with how long I chased HCP around here. Did I have any ill intent? No. Did I go way over board and let to go way too long? Yes. Many people over time have voiced their annoyance with it, and I dismissed it because I was having fun. That isn't fair to the forum.
Clear to you, not clear to me. Before you reply please note that only I can decide what is clear to me and what is not. I would never be so bold as to say whether a statement was clear to you or not because only you could say whether it was clear to you or not.
