I can write human interest Canzano-style "there's more to life than basketball" stories about raising a new Blazers fan from an infant due to be born right as the season begins.

I can write about ways fans can heckle players from opposing teams so badly that they tell you to fuck off.

In a few years, my son can write them for me, and then it'll be like Axe Cop.

Sly, you should point out that his True Shooting Percentage was 49.2%. This is fantastic for a perimeter player who takes a lot of shots. While the "Eye Test" will convince some, there is some merit to using simple logic. I recommend that for future write-ups.

    Congrats on the press pass.

I wonder if someday, people will use the ETSP, Eastoff True Shooting Percentage, where all shots are scaled to the 3pt, and thus centers who shoot at 78% from two are actually a 52% ETSP

When I look at a box score I may initially look at FG:FGA, but then I pay much more attention to Points Per Shot. FG/FGA underestimates what a player shot while Points Per Shot overestimates. The better thing is TS%, but it is harder to calculate from looking at a box score.

I am actually surprised that more people, especially those in the press don't comment on Points Per Shot.

    Quick example:
If a player goes 0 for 3, but has 13 points most people would conclude that the player had a "bad game", when the reality is quite the opposite.

Is it true posters are planted here and mods get paid?? That's what I've heard. If so that's really shady.

I look at points per shot all the time. It speaks to how efficient a player is.

The big problem is sharing that car between Denny, the various mods here and the other forums.

Where is the car located? Do you have to fly somewhere to use it?

    Gramps...
