    The only elite guard playing in football right now and with all do respect to Larry Allen but it's not him.

    Will Sheilds is the closest thing to an elite guard today.

    Wahle and Shields have the footwork of Tackles. That is what makes them elite

    How can you not have a elite guard? Pro Bowl Guards are elite because they are the best guards in the NFL. Im not comparing them to tackles, im comparing guards to guards.

    If you understood anything about Offensive lline play you would not be asking that question and would already know what we are talking about

    A guy can play well for a guard(Shields), but if he was an elite player, he would be a tackle, and if he were a really elite player, he would a left tackle....the Panthers paid Wahle because A)there were no elite tackles and B)they think he might be able to play there...if the league could invite 8 lineman to the Pro Bowl instead of 3 tackles, 3 guards and 2 centers, then you would have 7 tackles and a center all the time, they are just better players with more versitile skill sets....

    And where has Larry Allen played a good portion of his career? At tackle....Newton was never good enough to be a tackle, he wasnt quick enough, but Allen was....hes not anymore....
