I agree. I think conferences should be no more than 10 teams, every team plays each other and no conference title game.
you could even do that with a 12 team league (play the 11 other teams, and championship) and still have a slot for an OoC game
This exactly. 11 conference and 1 out of conference game a season. I don't care either way for a title game except for the money it brings in. Predictions are that in the next several years there will only be super conferences. What about the PAC 20? The original PAC 10 plays the round robin with 3 OOC games, then plays the champion of the East PAC for the overall title?
I don't like it at all. There are a lot of benefits to playing OOC games and one just wouldn't fly. National exposure, team travel, exposure, recruiting and money are all a part of OOC games. With just one every team would be so limited and since SOS counts for BCS, the Pac would be screwing themselves.
So OSU fans can go from being a middle of the road Pac-10 team to cheering for a team that barely breaks the top 10 of their conference? Sign me up! (actually, I think this would be stupid NOT to do)
