I understand this. But if you want to talk primary basketball, the ball should go into the post first. Whether that's by driving and kicking, or by entry passes and passing out of double teams.

What a lot of our players do is get a pass from the perimeter and hold it and then shoot it. This is just bad basketball, and the primary reason we lost towards the end of last season.

During our 13 game win streak we made a lot of jumpers, and the team as well as it's coach fell in love with this. As is the case with most jump shooting teams we stopped making them and started losing.

You live and die by the jumper, but teams that get to the foul line more usually end up winning.

The team is very soft. Oden will help. I really think that we need to trade Channing for some muscle. Maybe a guy like Reggie Evans in Philly. Channing is a good player who can hit the jumper, but his game is too similiar to LA's.

You are at certainly right, but that's not the whole truth. IMO, our offense also needs:

    open jumpers, not contested jumpers.
easy baskets (lobs, fast breaks, offensive boards, whatever).
    extra possessions (hustle board stats).
better defense, interior and perimeter (an in shape Greg Oden back and healthy).

We're doing better at these things than last year, for the most part. So, I'm optimistic.
We're not the same team as we were last year, we're better already.

The key is Oden's health. If healthy, Przy is that banger on the bench. If we went out now and traded for a bruising PF, when Oden was healthy, we would have that PF and Przy next to eachother off the bench, which won't work out too well. I wish more people were physical on our team, but I say we make teams adjust to us, not try to adjust to teams. With Oden back, we will be fine here. Until then, we can continue to trot Channing out there, and make their big men come out to guard him, opening up the lane for Outlaw and Rudy to get rebounds on occasion.

yeah man. Joel simply had his hand up in Howards face, Howard moves his arm up to take a shot and touches Joels completely still arm, then gets a foul. LAME!!!

Ike could bang with Howard. He is a strong little nugget

I Oden is healthy we have no need for a banger. We will be fine. I don't think you can get a top tier banger via trade anyway. Those guys are acquired through the draft.
