I don't pay attention to those labels...but you've wanted a posted amendment here and you posted one....that's a step...it's not going to be decided by S2 forum members but it's a good thread to discuss the amendment in..allow it to bake though before you serve it up...best if we discuss politics as concerned citizens and skip the political team sports rivalries for a change
Well, you do understand that we aren't in the business of passing amendments here. So maybe there's not a big motivation to draft an amendment. But here's a proposal: "The Second Amendment is hereby repealed." What do you think? barfo
I don't really think this amendment would fix the school shooting problem at all. However, I do think this amendment could have an impact on our society. It would sort out the cities where people lived in to the more like minded enclaves. Perhaps the large Cities would be places of work rather than residents even more than they are now except for those that gravitate to being cared for and reliant on police for any protection they might get.

First Mr. Jefferson informed the world that our rights came from the Creator. Then he went on to explain, to secure those rights, is why we form governments. "that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, " Then Mr. Madison did just that, codified these right in the foundation of our Government, including the bill of rights. No one mentioned the bible in all this process, but they did often refer to the Law a Nations, sometimes known as Natural law. But perhaps this is too much, you just needed and ear scratched?
No, it's not war. You can compromise now, or lose entirely later. If you try to hold out, demographics say your side will lose via attrition. If I were in your shoes I'd definitely be trying to find a compromise. But, you've got to give something to compromise. barfo

Ha! Yeah well it is about what I expected. If you have people that do not respect the the Nation and it's Constitution, you can not expect to deal with them in honest negotiation. Power is the only recourse.
Didn't you vote in the poll to disobey the law if law is changed to ban guns?. Isn't that not respecting the nation and constitution?
Heck, I will haggle at retail outlets and come away with some great deals on furniture, electronics etc. I always say, worst they can say is no.
For clarification it was if Oregon banned assault rifles, which Oregon can do. Also breaking the law is breaking the law and possible prison time. You accept that?
