2nd hour: -John Hollinger is now on (his thoughts) -JH thinks this team (without move) will make the playoffs because only 1 out of 9 teams won't make the playoffs. Utah and Houston have bigger problems -JH has the Blazers as a 90% (give or take) to make the playoffs and has them at the 4 or 5 spot -Trade could help, but doesn't see any major moves happening for the Blazers -(MB brings up Lee)Lee is a heck of a player . . .and a steal to get him. Also may be easy to re-sign as not many teams have cap room -A trade should be for long term. Not as big on Wallace because injury prone and not as friendly of a contract (and other stuff). David Lee . . . if you can do that without giving up one of big 3, he would do it in a heartbeat. -cap won't go up as much as was originally thought . . . expects lots of activity around trade deadline -Cavs may convert Wally's expiring contract into a player that could really help them
My own thoughts on Lee . . . I don't know shit about Lee other than watching an occasional Knick game or seeing him on ESPN . . . but if it is true that KP has been inquring and trying to trade for Lee for months now. . . well then I want him. Last year KP was hot on Harris and Calderon . . . sounds like this year it is Lee who he wants.
BTW-first hour question by MB: would you consider the season a disappointment if they don't make the playoffs? (I think he reads this board to get topics for courtside )
http://www.theknicksblog.com/ looks like its not gonna happen according to these guys The Lee to Portland situation is a complicated one for a bevy of reasons. Lee’s contact is one, but I really feel that there is no match for the Knicks with the Blazers and that a third team needs to be involved. So no trade is imminent, but sources close to the Blazers have told me management is infatuated with Lee to the point that are hoping to make a deal. “He’s on top of their list and a guy who would give their frontline, which is still developing, so much versatility moving forward,” the source told TKB. “He gives energy off the bench but he can make them big or small. He’s perfect and anyone on Knicks, with the exception of maybe Chandler, should be available.” Frank Isola of the Daily News reported that a three-way deal including the Clippers with Marcus Camby coming to the Knicks may have been discussed but Walsh denied it. A similar trade was left in the comments section of this blog, but it was not confirmed by my sources. What I do know is that Walsh was steadfast about obtaining Camby in the Randolph deal but the Clippers wouldn’t budge, causing a stalemate. Walsh finally agreed to move Z-Bo’s contract for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. I’ve also heard rumors that Walsh knew of Mobley’s heart condition and agreed to trade for him so that if he retired he’d have a roster spot to try and trade Stephon Marbury in a 2 for 1, which makes sense as it always baffled me that a savvy guy like Walsh would mistakenly trade for someone with heart history. But getting back to what we’re hearing, it makes plenty of sense for Walsh to stay patient and hold on to Lee, as hoopsworld claims. Our report simply stated that the Blazers were aggressively thinking about making a move considering they are very high on Lee and would love to have him for the playoff push. Again, nothing imminent because when you look at the Blazers’ roster, there doesn’t seem to be a fit, which is why we mentioned the third team. Walsh will not just let Lee walk, and he will get optimum value or simply wait for a sign and trade this summer. But the key here is that, as far as Lee is concerned, with Walsh not offering him an extension, his situation is still cloudy. And that he’s still a Knick, but the Blazers are closely monitoring the situation as are the Nuggets and Bulls.
I missed a lot of the first hour . . . it was Hollinger who is confident the Blazers will make the playoffs (90% chance or something like that) MB asked fans if they would consider the season a disappointment if Blazers missed the playoffs.
he has to ask lol? everyone isnt on the blazers payroll and isnt wearing the rose covered glasses. Im so sick of the positive spin. that was last year. this is this year...you know "next year" when we are supposed to make the post season. its not OKAY for us to miss the post season. btw...thanks G.O. for the update.
Deven emails "chance to get Butler" . . . MR says Butler would be great but no chance to get him (Butler not going anywhere) . . . so I don't think Butler is who MR and MB were talking about with the blockbuster deal -MR says doesn't think the Blazers will get Lee but there will be a major trade -MR says Lee has been a favorite of KP's for a long time -MR says start Bayless and bring Rudy off the bench Taking calls now . . .
Says who, you? Your opinion > Everyone else. I'm sure most people would be disappointed, but it's not the end of the world. This team has a ton of potential and a lot of time to reach it.
They answered my email,,,well actually they read it, they had already answered since I had sent it in.
