LOL, I actually think he wouldn't look too bad with long hair. My buddy Gary, who's very religious and doesn't watch any sport besides the occasional NASCAR race; whom is a sticker for accuracy when it comes to religion, saw this picture on my Twitter feed, and he was like "Dude, that's the most accurate portrait of Jesus. Seriously, every stereotype is of Jesus as a white European...."
Nurk has struggled the first couple of games. He's missing a lot of shots (6 for 20) which might be because he's easier to push around without the extra pounds. Plus he's turned the ball over 11 times in 2 games (49 minutes total) which is pretty ridiculous. I mean, nobody cares because we're winning and other players are really picking up the slack (Nurk is our 5th-leading scorer and has outrebounded Damian by one total rebound) but I hope this is an aberration.
I'm choosing to look at it as, "If we're paying this well with Nurkic playing poorly, think how awesome we'll be once he begins paying well." But yeah, he's not been good.
Nurk first game he collected 11 boards last night not so good but you got remember they are really aware of Nurk rebounding so other teams going to concentrate to keep him off but that leaves our power foward Aminu reaping the reward by getting 16 last night.
One of the things that I was afraid of when he lost that weight was not being able to bully others in the paint as easily. And it's showing. Add in the fact that someone on the coaching staff wants him to develop a fade-away jumper, and yeah.....it's been an ugly start.
He looks injured when he runs. Though, i don't remember if his "regular" running motion was awkward last year. Anyone remembers how Davis was focused on losing weight last summer and then he came back looking like a D-League player?
It certainly looked like it during the Pacers game, and a bit in the Suns game. Granted though....it could have just been him trying out some new moves that he (thought) he learned on his own.
Maybe he's they are learning to use him in more offensive sets but I don't like him not clogging the lanes without his back to the basket. Having him move around a ton looking for the fade away doesn't use him to his best advantage. I'd want him to do the two bump move inside and then pivot for the quick shot off the back board. That worked really well last season. I think Terry has wet dreams about 6'11'' large men that shoot high percentage shots. My guess is that Nurk lost the weight for health reasons. They can't afford to lose his now at any cost.
Are you guys joking? The next greatest player in the nba had to drop 44 points on us to win by 3. How dare you besmirch Nurkic's name. This is merely a blip on the radar of his career.
