Dude the only point in a consolidation trade is to get a player that's BETTER than the ones your trading away.
Bollocks. EDIT: My intent was to come back and edit in a much less snarky sounding rebuttal, but I got called away on a conference call. I'll try to complete tomorrow.
What is Fams, like family? Family of fans? Family in hebrew is Mishpaha when the 2nd h is like a letter you don't really have in English. It's maybe like how you pronounce the g in Sergio Rodriguez
And how exactly is that a consolidation trade? If we take back more players than we send out, we'd need to cut players we already have on our roster just to make a bad trade work. No thanks. One trade that does work, salary wise, is Olynyk for Ed Davis straight up, but why the hell would we do that? Davis is a better player and under on a longer contract - and he LOVES being here. I'm not sure how much stock I put in the ESPN Trade Machine's projected wins, in general, but in this case, I think it's pretty spot on: Boston +3 wins, Portland -2 wins. BNM
Right as I read this, the lyric of zombie barricades by The Company Band said "Are you fucking kidding me" As if on cue.
Even on a positional basis this is bad. We have a logjam at center (Ezeli, Plumlee, Leonard), so why would we trade our two PFs (Aminu and Davis) for another C in Olynyk? Dumb dumb dumb.
Damn, thanks for reminding me. I have a 2-for-1 Big Mac coupon that expires at closing time today and I need to high-tail over to McDonalds right now.
I'd like to have Kelly, but not for that price. He was 8th in mpg on a .610 team. Aminu and Davis were 3rd and 7th on a .537 team. For them, we should at least get an established starter. At least I got a cherry tart tonight.
Similar to Meyers he can't guard 4's on the perimeter and he kind of has a short wing span at (6' 9.75") for a center. (Leonard's is 7'3") So I am not sure which position he is best suited to play. He can pass and has decent handles for a big and he can score, so its not like I think he sucks. I just would not want to lose the D that Aminu and Davis bring to the table.
