Reading this again, I hope this didn't come across the wrong way. Not grouping you three together other than you guys keep the board lively with your "creative" responses.

Good point about the season goes all the way through July 1st, allowing some moves by players and organizations this season.

My biggest concern on the list is Oden . . . if this season is lost, does that make him an UFA next summer?

    theoretically...yes.

    but

there could be a cba agreement after the season is cancelled
or a provision in the new agreement that ending contracts will be extended (or all contracts for that matter)
or a provision making it easier to retain your own free agents (an improved RFA if you will)

or any number of other things i havent thought about

I was a fan of the M's, from 1985 through 1994, when the strike started.

Too bad this isn't the off-topic forum, there would be about 3-5 obligatory reply posts from the self-righteous about "saving for situations like this" and "that's what's wrong with society, I was taught to have 5 years salary in the bank and a year's worth of food stashed in the basement blah blah blah".

some people are just better at lying on a message board

while inside, they are an old broken pile of of shattered glass and child pornography mixed with self loathing homosexuality and a rape fetish (taking)

so in the end, they can pretend to be better than you, but while they are crying in the bathroom mirror right before they swallow a bottle of tylenol 3 and finally ending the tortured existence of lies and embarrassment, you will have your revenge

damn, they could really use a fan right now too, i suggest giving them another chance, they have a great young nucleus, and while still pretty bad, should turn it around soon. grow with them towards relevance, the bandwagon is empty so you could get a good seat.

    im a giants fan

I hear ya. We try saving. My wife hasn't worked for 6 years when our youngest was born. It was important to me that she raise our kids and not a babysitter like I was. It's tough on one income to make the mortgage and 2 cars payments. Being freelance also is tough when it comes to health care. That's about 4 grand right there a month. Mrs. HCP will soon be joining the work force again....... hopefully back at the Acropolis.

I have tickets to the NCAA tournament at the RG next March, so I'll devote all of my TV-watching time to college hoops.

So the Mariners weren't good until you stopped following them.

Hmmm ... think you might drop the Blazers even if there is no lockout?

KP just booted Wes from his house for having too many parties. Perhaps you could make an agreement with Pritchard to take care of his place until he sells it (which at the price he's asking is going to be a while).

What'll I do? Read more, watch more college hoops, spend more time with the wife... the usual suspects.

i work at a college, and always feel bad about not going to watch the kids' games, mostly because they always seem to fall on blazer game nights, so i will likely spend more time watching theirs. also i have a plan to visit 2 ot 3 stadiums in the pac12 each year till ive seen a football game in each of them, so this would free up more weekends for travel.

i am sure i can stay busy, i won't cave in this lockout and give in to the owners!
