I think he was the best player available. Mcroberts has been a big disappointment in his college career. There were really high hopes for him but we don't know what happened. Fazekas would have been a solid pick for a back up but we have our back ups in Hayes and a semi PF in Novak. We need a banger that can rebound and shoot CONSISTENTLY Glen Davis hurt his ankle and hes to small. Hes strong but he would get over powered in the NBA Tiago Splitter...hes been in the draft 4 times and finally keeps his name in. I dont trust him.

That, and the expectations were too high. He's never been a go-to-guy offensively, and the fact that everyone expected him to be one didn't help.
don't know much about the kid, but I do know that I wanted a PF with our pick.....we'll be in big trouble if we can't pick up a quality 4 in FA.
Are we really in any trouble with the current roster? I mean, losing Howard is great, more minutes for Hayes. This allows Novak to have a chance at proving himself with more minutes. Reed and Battier can also play the 4. The PG spot is set. We still have the MLE and the LLE to perhaps get a backup C who can switch over to the 4, and a(n athletic) wing, so I think we're on track.
I guess I am in the minority in liking this pick. And from the press conference it seems Adelman really liked him as well, so I can deal with that. Phoenix was really high on him, and if we're looking to preach movement under the new regime, it's good to have a player that Phoenix would have wanted (though we're much different than the Suns). On top of that, Brooks is apparently really clutch, and I remember seeing him competing in a 3 point competition for something the past week, and he had won the Men's Bracket, losing to some girl. His size holds him back, but I am sure Adelman will be able to utilize him in some way. And we're not looking for a solid contributor right away. But for all you doubters. . on the bright side, our point guard defense can't be much worse, in our division, than Rafer Alston.
