<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Okay, so these are the phones I'm looking at the most
SLVR, the V3X, The Motorola Q, and the Treo.

And maybe that chocolate phone, although the name sounds ridiculous.</div>

Don't get a SLVR, my friend had one and its even more fragile than a razor.

But my budget is something like $200, so I can get something good. Plus you can find any phone in Harlem. Anything.</div>

I hear ya' man. It's the same here in certain spots of Alsip. Just make sure you're careful of a non-commercial seller as they could get you in deep. You don't want that; no one does.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Run BJM:</div><div class="quote_post">If you want a phone to double as an mp3 player then you're probably right but all I really care about is if the battery lasts and if I get good reception, everything else is a bonus since I rarely if ever use stuff like the music player, GPS, camera, etc. Razr's are cheap these days, sleek, get the job done fine but they are toward the low end in terms of phones that double as all-in-one media centers. I have my own mp3 player that plays music as well as any phone, I don't need some half assed mp3 program tacked on to my phone (though the Razr does have one) so IMO Razr is a very nice phone.</div>

If people just wanted a phone that could have long battery time do you really think they would purchase these expensive phones with color screens, mp3 players etc...? If that was the case, why purchase a V3? There are cheaper phones around with longer battery time so I'm confused to why you would purchase the V3 if thats all you wanted.

The reason the V3 is cheaper that other media phones is because you have to pay extra to actually upgrade the memory and buy the wires for uploading the songs/videos onto your phone. By the time you've bought this equipment, the price will be the same as all other media type phones.

After a year or so you would want to sell your phone. At this sime the V3 is sleek BUT when you go to sell it there will be 1000 phones which look sleeker and have better qualities, hence you recieving less money for it(due to its low capabilities) in the future than other media type phones. When I buy a phone, looks don't play a huge part, but capabilities do.

So IMO, if you are purchasing a V3 for media qualities as well as calling qualities(as most people do), the V3 is not a good choice.

My point was that it's a sleek phone but the battery lasts a long time as well, of course I could get some low end phone they give you for free that has a few more hours of battery life but the Razr is nicer than those phones and its battery life lasts nearly as long. Alot of the expesnive, high end phones batteries don't last which is what bugs me when all I really want to do is make calls, send text messages, and maybe I'll take a picture every few weeks.

Agreed, if you're looking for a phone that can play alot of media then the Razr isn't a good choice but if you just want a basic phone that also looks nice and has some other random features for a decent price then the Razr is fine.

I just got the new sidekick and it's amazing I have no complaints whatsoever. I recommend it if you text message a lot and are on aim a lot as well.

Nice point, Run. I could go like 3-4 days without recharging my phone and leaving it on and my phone would be on the last battery bar.

The battery life depends on how much you use it. If you just leave the phone on without using it much, most phone's would last 3-4 day's. But I still agree that if you want a phone which lacks media capabilities but looks good and has a decent battery life, the V3 is good if you live in America. The V3 is still actually one of the higher priced phones here in the UK.
