Using a tactic always used on me....

So you are saying this current Blazers team has more potential than the 99 team?

Exactly!!! That previous 99 team had it's share of problems. There really wasn't that "go to guy" to end the 4th. Damon was such a defensive liability as well. Even more than Lillard.

I want to add that the west was really strong then too. Spurs, Utah, Phoenix and Minny were very strong teams.

I think he is saying more "long term potential". But not this year

Their "go to guy" was usually JR. Who although was a stud, was also a knucklehead. You never knew what he would do on or off the court.

Exactly. The '99 team couldn't stay together the way it was. Three starter-worthy players at shooting guard in Rider, Jackson, and Bonzi? Not going to work.

I don't see obvious problems like that with this year's squad.

Of course, it's easy for players to be happy when they're surprising the league and riding an 11-game winning streak. So we'll see if any issues emerge after a few losses...

The 99 team was HUGE. Outside of Stoudamire of course. They would just pound you on the glass. The team now has adequate size, but it depends on the 3-ball. They play completely different styles in my opinion. The 90-91 team is my favorite though. They had the best starting 5 in the league. We should have won the title that year. Fucking Vlade Divac!

Agreed. My opinion is the two best Blazer teams of all times never even made the finals.

    #2: 1990-1991
    #1: 1977-1978
