The more I think of this the more I change to not wanting him back. We could use him as an 11th man who plays spot minutes for offense or fills in for an injury. But I dont think he'll be happy in that role. Maybe if no team offers him a deal in a few weeks he accepts being an 11th man? With Kanter we dont have the offensive limitations on the second unit. With RoCo Jones Zack Little we have PF who can give us better defense (critical wirh a DameCJ team) Melo loved playing for us last year but he was third on the team in minutes and touches. If we bury him on the bench I think he'll be as disgruntled as in Houston. Love his past season but we need to aim for better.
Let me rephrase this for you: If you want to Fall Head-Over-Heels in love with Jones, play Melo 30 mpg.
If we sign him Stotts will play him period. Stotts like veterans and really loves veterans that's been there along time. Stotts would not disrespect Melo by not playing him so someone will be left out of the rotation. Now I know olshey to prevent that he will not sign him to return the same way that olshey won't sign backup point guard because he believes in Simons. Olshey might prove me wrong but we will find out soon.
