If I may add to this thought experiment, the position/ move set probably has a big influence on injuries as well. Brandon Roy was doing a lot of cutting and faking. That is going to be harder on knees. LMA is doing more back down stuff, which might be harder on a different area of the body.

I'm sure it required much more effort than playing at an elite level in the NBA.

From reading LMA's tweets, especially the one where he admitted to coasting a bit, I don't see how anyone could argue that he may need some additional rest. Will he get it? I don't know, because the team is much better with him on the court than without it.

Now, I realize that LMA's own words have less meaning than some middle-age guy playing Y-Ball a few times a week, but I digress.

How is that trolling? What was the point of your rec-league (at best) comparision? I found it foolish, so I commented on it.

For some reason people can't see past this. Aldridge basically saying he's being pushed to the limit means nothing. It's all about what other players have done while continuing to ignore the warning signs of Aldridge suffering two non-contact injuries in the past month or so. That's just not enough for some people.

I was told I was Nate bashing when I brought up Aldridge playing too many minutes in another thread.

My tired game? You're taking some very strong opinions in this thread, and you personally belittled somebody you were debating by telling them that you don't respect them. RoyToy isn't taking a ridiculous position, is he? Your calling people "FOOL(s)" kind of set the tone for this thread anyhow, and then you proceeded to regale us all with tales of hiking the Sierras, frozen peas between toes, and pick-up games. It's been quite the anecdotal adventure.

Even if you don't believe he was playing too many minutes before, does Aldridge saying "I felt a sharp pain out of nowhere" change your mind at all? Do you really think continuing to play him these kind of minutes after experiencing something like that is really the best idea? You don't even have to pretend the minutes and the injury are related to answer that question.

Says the guy who challenged a "FOOL" to debate his opinion, and then proceeded to whine about not having respect for the "FOOL" when the "FOOL" was pointing out facts and quotes from the player at the center of the debate. :)

Whether or not LA's body can handle the minutes can only be answered if he gets some stress related injury.
Why should the team even risk that sort of thing?

It seems the safer course would be to reduce his minutes to somewhere in the 36 minute range instead of 42+.
As an NBA player he should be physically able to play that many minutes without issue.

How about a sharp pain in his knee that came "out of no where"?

Since you didn't answer me before, I'll repost it:

Let's assume that you are right, and reducing LA's minutes would reduce his chance of injury.

What do you reduce his minutes to? What is the magic number of minutes that he needs to be playing to avoid injury?

The problem with these statements is that 36 is just a random number pulled out of the ass. Why not 32? Why not 43? This is why I've been asking for some data or a study to suggest that 36mpg is actually different than 42mpg when it comes to injury.

Apparently you think I called you out when I didn't even know your position when I made that post.

    Good job.

Your question is pointless, that's why.
