ESPN - Trail Blazers Video: Brian Windhorst says there is chance LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) could be out for an 'extended' time

I guess Sinobas gets what he wants. Let's see how the Blazers respond. The arguments for pro or con on Aldridge will be proven

Windhorst? Really? Dude's in CLE hanging on to every word that Bron says with that hack Chris Haynes. What would he know about POR and Aldridge?

Well of course there's a chance. He's just speculating and disguising it as insider knowledge. I'm also speculating that Aldridge will be out for an extended amount of time.

Nothing new there. If he has a torn ligament then it may require surgery, in which case he could be out for an extended period. Well, yeah. Might be a sprain, which would just be a few games.

I think he said in the video "Even if it's a sprain, he could be out for an extended period of time". When he talked about surgery, he was referring to months out.

The guy doesn't know anymore than we do here. He's a good reporter, but he's just speculating here.

Well, I hope his speculation is dead wrong! I don't want to see Aldridge miss any games!

I'm fine with resting LA until after the allstar break if that's the option. I want Rolo, Aldridge and Freeland all healthy after the break and fresh to push towards the playoffs. This time of the season is actually a much better time to have an injury to heal than later on.

Except that Sinobas and other "LA haters" don't want him gone; they just want him to shoot fewer (like, 90% fewer) contested mid-range/long-range 2-point jump shots. But don't let facts get in the way of a good narrative.

Seems like a lot of them want to trade rather than change him

What never gets acknowledged by that camp is the toll that takes on LA physically. Would you rather have 50 games of down low LA or 70 games of normal LA?

With 31 wins, 42 games left to play, it's all good. Just 29 more wins and bring on the playoffs!

If his coach and teammates miss him, that alone says it all. The Lamarcus value debate is beyond beating a dead horse, it's beating a dead horse that's composted into dust and blown away in the wind. Some folks are just creatures of habit. He's a game changer. Winning without him is interesting to watch. I'm actually enjoying seeing guys like Claver play for a change.

Wrong, blue and Sinobas actually want him gone. If you like, I can provide quotes if you desire.

example: Blue said he would rather have DMC than Aldridge.

Preferring one player to another doesn't equate to wanting said player gone. For example, I love RoLo, but I'd take Vucevic over him in a heart beat. Does that mean I want Lopez gone?

Blue would take DMC over LMA because of the way he plays, the type of shots he takes. I'd venture that if LMA took fewer contested jump shots, Blue would change his opinion.

BTW, lest anyone misinterpret, I decidedly do NOT want DMC over LMA.
