From this, and the article (meeting with Aldridge's "reps"), I'm guessing all this trade talk is coming from his agents. I very much doubt Aldridge wants out but his agents are probably trying to move him into a different situation.

 

If you were a GM and you have an All-star player on your team, already there were rumors surrounding the trade of this player. Would you meet in a very public area discussing trade possibilities, or would you rather find a more private area?

 

Definitely. Agents are always talking to other teams saying their client wants out without consulting their client.

 

I don't know if you are using a "green font" or actually believing this, but Agents absolutely do this all the time.

 

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but there's no reason for Aldridge to actively deny any rumors if he is actively pursing a trade. He'd be much better keeping his mouth shut.

He probably doesn't mind going to another team, but he himself hasn't asked out.

And maybe his agent told him that Portland is actively shopping him, even if he wasn't asking to be traded. So maybe he said "Well I didn't ask to leave, but if you do want to trade me; here is a list of teams I wouldn't mind playing in"

If you believe reports then trades involving Anthony Davis have already been turned down by NOLA.

1. if no trade is worked out before the season, he doesn't want to be hated in Portland while playing here
2. The Blazers are trying to do right by him, so they have asked him not to go public to retain his trade value

You make it sound like they are discussing top secret plans at the top their lungs. People have business meetings in lobbies, restaurants, and other semi-public places all the time. I'm guessing they if Olshey did talk with his agent(s) then they did so in a way that didn't draw a ton of attention, or it probably wouldn't take very long either.

 

No but being in a high traffic public area like a hotel lobby would be pretty easy to spot out. I'm not saying the discussion wasn't made, but that is probably the worst place to have one.

 

I would be fine with this deal if it could be pulled off.
