OK... So I've finally done some actual research on this kid and I have to say I'm really impressed. IMO He's like Batum on Steroids or a less athletic Lebron. Sorry for those of you who don't believe in tanking but I think we need to do everything we can to get this kid save trading Dame.

So you agree with the "worst team in the league" label?

I don't know if I can handle another 1st pick in the draft drama.

I mentioned this kid last month. This is the reason why I wouldn't mind it if the Blazers had one shitty season. Of course nothing is a guaranteed and we all know the Blazers and #1 picks haven't turned out very well in the past.

This kid would stay another year in college if it meant being first picked by Portland.

Yes yes yes a million times yes. I'm all for us getting Simmons. I'd love to see him added to dame, Cj, and Leonard as a core going forward

Yeah the tank is on. Olshey has to keep the company line that our goal is the playoffs. And then Allen talks about the "reboot" while the team schedules as any back to backs ad they can. Putin would commend the Blazers on their policy of disinformation.

Jamal Murray is another player to keep an eye on. That is is CJ doesn't pan out.

No I don't. However, if we adhere to our youth movement in the WC who knows how bad we'll be. On paper we don't look "playoff good" so I think we should be trying to get the best pick available.

I think the best case scenario is to draft this kid and then use our cap space to sign a second star.

That's just silly.. Bennett was NEVER considered a #1. He has no handles to speak of and isn't NEARLY the elite passer and Defender that Simmons is.

I refuse to state an opinion on Simmons one way or the other on the grounds that I'll inevitably look stupid when this thread is bumped by some sadistic SOB three years down the road.

You're right. The Simmons hype is much more in line with Harrison Barnes before his freshman year.
