Looks like Biden is going to see how his stops in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin go this week as well as his Friday interview with George Stephanopolous goes before he decides.

When the president does it, that means it is not illegal.

I am sorry, but why are we again allowing Republican talking points control the narrative? Trump had an equally if not worse debate performance when you look at the substance rather than the simple visual appearance. Yes, Biden didn't do well, it's well documented. But why is Trump given a slide on the debate when his answers were incomprehensible and far more devastating? He literally lied and avoided every question, and he has an entire project that is well published detailing his plans to dismantle our democracy and install himself as a dictator for life. Why is the only discussion around Biden and his performance when the alternative is a guy that wants to end our democracy? We need to reframe the narrative to Trump and his disasterous plans for his next term if re-elected.

Are you new here? This is always been the case.

It really started catching steam with the whole "Silent majority" bullshit.

The right/GOP/MAGA a: likes to control the narrative and b: are known for being in lock step with their party.

No, I am not, which is why I am pointing out that everyone that is commenting on this post is allowing this narrative to take root. This is bullshit, we need to refocus the narrative on Trump and his dangerous plan to destroy American democracy. What does it matter what is going on with Biden? I mean really? The guy has a young VP who has the resume to be president, and clearly has a very experienced and competent cabinet. The Presidency is larger than one person, and it's important to vote for that person that will fill out the cabinet with competent people who can run the executive branch in a way that is in the best interest of America and Americans. In the last 8 years we've had two administrations, one with lots of turn over and a tumultuous 4 years that had extremely corrupt people filled throughout, and one with remarkable (by todays standards) stability with little turnover and highly skilled professionals that are experienced administrators that are clearly very competent. I am voting for the administration, not just the man who is appointing those people. Biden doesn't need to be a TV personality to be a good president, and in the last 4 years he's proven that he has made wise decisions with all those years of experience and has kept a steady hand on the rudder during unbelievably uncertain times.

What we do not need is to continue this conversation around Biden's fitness. We need to stop the conversation. Lets refocus this on Trump and his dangerous plans for our country. This is 1932, do we want to hand over the country to a mad man with extensively well documented plans for what he and his cronies are going to do with the country if given the opportunity? It's insane to me that the conversation is on Biden's fitness when the real question is why is a dangerous and deranged autocrat even being allowed to run?

Are you serious? Inflation and gas prices would like a meeting with you.
For the record - I'm not a fan of Trump. But to say Biden has been a good president is a joke. They both suck. I wish we had two different candidates to vote for.

Biden did not cause the high inflation. There was a severe supply shortage of goods and services caused by the pandemic. As the economy began recovering, demand outpaced supply - hence higher prices. Inflation is currently at 3.3 % - not bad historically. Beyond that, employment and wages as well as the stock market are at at all time highs under Biden and interest rates are projected to begin coming down in the next quarter. Overall - Biden has done a good job.

Tell me you don't know how gas prices and inflation works, without telling me you don't know how gas prices and inflation works.

Inflation and gas prices have been lower in the US than nearly all of the rest of the world... And I'm not a fan of Biden.

Absolutely not joking. Biden has been a fantastic president actually IMO, he's been doing a bang up job, and I mean that non-ironically. Yes the GOP talking points have taken hold, and inflation in particular has been brutal, but IMO these things need more context to fully understand. Let me put it this way, the president doesn't control inflation and only has indirect control over it. Inflation is due to money supply in the market, which is not anything the president has direct control over. The president has only minor control over things such as setting an agenda and the bully pulpit, he doesn't even introduce bills, he just signs or veto's them. Interest rates, as well as government spending and taxation is what drives inflation. Inflation is a lagging indicator of policy, if you want to take a quick analysis, bear with me real quick as we look back the last few years.
    • In 2017 Trump passed tax cuts that pumped trillions of dollars of extra currency into the market (This also dramatically exacerbated wealth inequality)
    • Interest rates (set by the fed not the president) remained irrationally low for years which again basically pumped money into the economy
    • During COVID there was trillions of dollars of stimulus payments to both consumers and businesses
    • During COVID there was massive issues with supply chains and labor markets which both were completely unprecedented
    • Putin invaded Ukraine which threw the oil market through the ringer
    • In Biden's first two years the Inflation Reduction Act and infrastructure bill passed
Out of all of these bullet points, which one of these is a direct result of Biden as president? If anything we should be glad that Biden is/was president when he was, as what Trump has suggested he wants is to be able to set interest rates himself. He's made statements that he wants to cut interest rates which would introduce even more currency into the economy --- while there's already way too much money supply in the market already. That's a dangerous and stupid thing to do on so many levels.

Biden's team, and especially Jerome Powell should receive a freaking medal for how they've handled the economy IMO. Powell was first seated by Trump, and is one of the few really smart things he did while president that I believe he deserves a lot of credit for. Powell has masterfully avoided a recession, while simultaneously helping lower inflation. I mean holy shit, yes inflation has been bad, but put things into perspective and look at how bad things were in the late 70's with stagflation, or the early 80's recession, the 2001 dot com bust, or 2008 great recession and we should be thankful we avoided a repeat of any of that. The 2008 recession stuck around for years and years, and inflation has been brought down to about 3% after exploding early in Biden's term.

Does inflation suck? Yes, of course, but dude Trump is absolutely not the answer, not for the economy, nor for America.

You should consider where you heard this, and whether you want to continue to believe those that traffic in this sort of misinformation.

I was just in the deli section at the supermarket by house. This guy rolls up on his motorized scooter and yells 2lbs of jojo’s without anyone asking for his order.

I look over at him and he makes eye contact with me. I look away. I look over again because I realize he’s staring at me.

He says “you watch the debate?” I just ignore him. He says “pretty scary that bumbling fool has the nuclear codes”. My wife steps on my foot real quick afraid I’d react.

This sad sack went on a 5 minute rant trying to get me engaged and I didn’t feed into his nonsense.

Who is in office is the least of your worries butthole

    Wow
