“We know you are a good shooter, but watching it live… it’s a thing of beauty”

    - quote from reporter during Miller interview

Then Miller said he made 7/10 or better every time. That is impressive. Reminds me of comments out of Durant workout.

I remember Pat throwing the football 80 yards in a video. But Dame's blind zip passes from beneath the hoop with defenders on him , out to an open shooter have major heat on them as well.

In all seriousness, the interview sounds good, the shot looks great—I think think even with the hitchy shot I like Amen a little more than Brandon.

That shows the crapshoot of the draft. I don't think Miller will be Garza though. He's a much more fluid athlete and player.

And who knows, maybe Drew Timme will be a steal for some team. Everyone seems to be saying he has zero chances of being anything other than an end of bench player in the NBA. I'd take a chance with a 2nd rounder on him. Especially with your own G League team now. What if he becomes more.

I like Miller… unassuming and quiet off the court but turns into assassin on the court. I just have a gut feeling he will be very good. He is very humble and will always work to get better.

Odd that Highkin would mention that Dame was at every workout but then omit this one.

lol...ok...lines are drawn. Scoot fans infer negative things about Miller. Miller fans infer negative thing about Scoot

I'm always suspicious and skeptical of heavy hype and Scoot has heavy hype

I’ll be surprised if Miller doesn’t go 2, he had a bad tournament but this guy is what you want in todays NBA. He’s long, athletic, and can stroke the 3. How often do you take the shorter guy when you have 2 prospects who rate out similar? This is all bullshit smokescreens, Miller is going 2.

The NBA is all about scoring and making 3s now, why wouldn’t we want a 6’9 stud with a BEAUTIFUL shot on a rookie deal. I’m starting to think this trade stuff is lip service and Joe wants Miller.

Eh, not really. Ant and the guy below both started with low shot pockets and have done pretty well.

i can see a scenario where the Blazers leak something to national reporters, that they've been aggressive in trade talks, but couldn't find a deal for Ant + #3, so that they can say: "look Dame, we tried everything, but it didn't work out" and then make the Pick.

I can't see that scenario at all. For one thing, I doubt Cronin is a major league liar

for another thing, everything both Cronin and Dame have said is that Dame is being kept up-to-date on where trade talks are and how the Blazers are evaluating draft prospects. Dame showing up for workouts sure seems to indicate he's well aware Portland could keep the pick

Yes, because Dame will get his info on the team's attempts from national writers. Brilliant take.

"If I had to say a player right now that I would want to add to our team, I would say somebody like Mikal Bridges or OG Anunoby or Jarred Vanderbilt. Somebody like that. One of those three. I love those three guys." - Damian Lillard last summer

I think Dame will be ok we we drafted and keep Brandon Miller if trade offers don't make sense for us, based on the fact that Miller should be at least just a good, but most likely gunna be better than either OG or Vanderbit, if not already

If its Scoot and we prefer Amen see if Houston is interested in giving us Eason or a pick (20?) to move up for Scoot and we then draft Amen at 4

Interesting as I've seen nothing about yesterday's B Miller's workout, no hype/tweets nada. I am very wary of Miller and if Scoot is not there I would prefer to trade the pick which is the way I am leaning. I think I'd take the risk on Amen over Miller if we keep the pick

If Portland likes to draft him and he did amazing, why advertise?

If Portland wanna trade the pick and he sucked, why advertise?

I guess the 'conspiracy theory' here would be to advertise him with little intrigue because Portland wants him over Scoot and hopes to lower his stock.

But imo, he does not look as sharp as the Thompson twins or Scoot in their workout videos.

Certainly, workout footage is quite selective but the way I see it, you put the pieces together and this practically confirms why he may be shy to attack the rim (he's too slow).

Meanwhile, his release is somewhat low. Because he is tall and lengthy enough, it won't get blocked as often. The idea is that lower = faster release. He's quick on the draw and that's why he gets his points.

But....against tough competition, he hasn't performed as well and I think his release may have something to do with it. Unlike Banchero or Tatum, who both performed well against ranked competition and who both have higher releases, I think you're going to see the limits of his offense.

He'll be streakier if he feels that he has to rush what is already a rushed shot.

A comment above stated that Reggie Miller had a low and quick release in an attempt to draw comparisons but Reggie's release was higher than Brandon's. Maybe if Brandon wants to be like Reggie, which he has the talent to be like, he'll adjust his shooting form just a tad bit but for now, I can see why it might not work as well in the NBA.
