I think most people “in the know” view Scoot as a generational talent.

Is that why we were supposedly getting lowball offers for him?

Teams wanted to stick it to Portland SO bad that they were going to screw their own franchise and pass on the opportunity for a *generational* talent?

Lowball offers due to the fact DAME made it known he wanted the pick traded.

Go back and read/listen to a majority of draft analysts.

Or you can go back through my post history where I linked to multiple podcasts, articles, etc.

They thought Amen had a higher ceiling while Scoot had a lower ceiling but was (much) more likely to obtain that "ceiling".

So you're saying teams wanted to fuck themselves?

They were willing to say, "Hey, we have NO shot at Dame, but we could get this generational point guard that would "supposedly" be #1 in any other draft, but we're just going to make a shit offer and see what happens?"

The logic in this place is crazy.

I assure you, if the Spurs made it known they didn't want Wemby, teams wouldn't be "lowballing" them. There would be a nuclear arms race to see who could get that pick from them.

Or better yet, if the Blazers got the #1 pick and Dame went on every podcast, tv station, and media outlet on the planet and screamed TRADE THE PICK OR I'M GONE... Do you think teams would lowball Portland for Wemby?

I would've taken Amen over Scoot because of his height, but I don't think Dame would've been OK with Amen or Scoot, and probably not even Miller.
But if we got Miller, or maybe Amen, I would've denied Dame's trade request.

There's a reason why picks that high rarely get traded. It's almost never wise to trade those picks because the ceiling is so much higher. There aren't many players I would trade Scoot for. It's not about intentional low-balling, it's that there are very few trades that you'd be getting equal value for.

No point even worrying about it. He wasn't there when we drafted.

100%. I keep seeing people bring him up. He wasn't a choice for us. Get over it. Why not post Wemby highlights as well.

On top of that, there are several similar players in this draft that should be available when we pick.

We might have been able to trade up from 3 to 2 though. Before the draft I think the consensus was he would have been the perfect need.

I doubt he loves the fans that booed him on draft night.
