The Hornets are building around 22-year-old Lamelo Ball.

To me it's highly unlikely they would have traded away the rights to 20-year-old Brandon Miller.

If Brandon keeps pouring in 20+ a night, we might have a 3-way faceoff for rookie of the year.

I am not in your camp here as I consider his size a plus especially on D. He's small & quick enough to keep the league's speed burners in front of him but big enough (wingspan & bulk) to switch off onto wings so much better then many PGs including the great Dame. I really hope he puts a lot of focus on that end as he has potential to be a real difference maker there.

My concern is mostly about his jumper and if he doesn't rework his shot mechanics.

Scoot is what, our 6th or 7th option on this team and he’s playing the toughest position to learn in this league. He’ll be fine.

Good points. I didn't really think that thru. Its more about both our guards. Jusf not a fan of two 6'3" guards when so many other elite guards/ball handlers in the league are currently 6'5" or more.

IIrc, Sharpe measured 6'4.5 barefoot. If all three of Portland's young guards develop as we collectively hope, my guess is things will work best if Ant is the 6th man/instant offense guy.

I agree but will he accept that position? The optimal future is yes. Because if scoot and Sharpe( my guy) develops as hoped, that’s a lethal three guard rotation.
I will say I love some of the passes that Ant was dishing to DA last night. Whoever says Ant is a ball hog is not watching the games. He is absolutely improving his passing and silliness to assist vs score.

Generalizing... the primary motivation for young guys in the league is to 1. get paid 2. win. Guessing accepting being a non-starter would be a whole lot easier if you're getting paid what you hope for and especially if the team was winning.

Brandon went 0-7 from deep last night.
he's a total bust, Scoot was the only transcendent generational talent in this draft.

Pretty much agree. I would also add, if I were a name mentioned daily in trade talks, there is no way I sit and come off the bench unless ordered to do so. I would want to start to have the optimal chance of proving myself to valuable to be traded.
He has the contract. But the team is not playing, well so I could see him thinking to myself, “ im arguably the best player on this team. No way I come off the bench and waste my career stats for the development of players that may never even be as good as I am right now.”

It's professional sports and part of the gig is that GMs are going to talk about their players in trades probably a whole lot more then we're privy to. If you were a pro athlete balking at this reality, you would be unprofessional. You don't set the lineups, the coach does. If you refuse to play coming off the bench, you don't get paid which goes against my listed player priority #1

Ant is currently being very well compensated and the team sucks no matter who is starting. When I speculated about him eventually coming off the bench, it was in the scenario that it would work best that way for team chemistry after (and IF) he, Scoot & Shaedon have all developed (meaning reached their collective ceilings). That is at least a season or two away. Presently they are being schooled & (hopefully) absorbing the lessons & not getting down over short term results. If the trio is kept together and they start winning down the line, thats when they can start figuring out which lineups work best. I will point out that there are 96 minutes per game available to the two backcourt spots... split 3 ways thats 32 each regardless of who starts and of course all three could spend some time on the court together.

I wasn’t implying he would refuse if ordered. Just not going to volunteer the move for the betterment of the team. Coach/gm would need to order him.

In 6-7 years, they might be squaring off in the Finals
