I think you or someone else also mentioned a sign-and-trade with Toronto using Nurk. Or it could be any team that has a SF/PF that needs a good center.
It would be way better than Grant, but I feel like it would need more than just the Bucks pick with it but if we could get OG, I would be a supporter of guaranteeing the our pick to Chicago so we could throw another first rounder to Toronto in that sing and trade that would send them Nurk and get us OG.
as long as we're dreaming... Nurk S/T for OG Grant for Milw 2025 #1 Draft Duren Dame, Hart, OG, Grant, Duren while holding onto Ant & Little... Yes! 2022 offseason, for today and tomorrow, that will do! STOMP
Planning for today and the future seems to be what Golden State is doing. They've had several first-round picks they could have traded.
Then cancel out Grant and do something else. I really want no part of him if it's going to take $28M to re-sign him.
I've made this joke before, but I'd like to receive 28M annually too but am open to settling for a bit less. Like most players, I'm sure Grant and his agent want to get what he's valued in today's NBA. Next year will be the last on his current deal making 21M. When he starts his next year he'll be 29... what do you think would be a reasonable contract for him? If Portland were to trade for him this offseason, they'd have his Bird rights and could also potentially sign and trade him if they wanted to go another direction. STOMP
Impressive oh yes, ridiculous yes as well, why in hell would Toronto do that, I wouldn't - I would laugh
doesn't matter as that is horrible value for OG, if you don't realize that not much else to talk about
What do you believe (as an example) to be reasonable value to Toronto for OG, given the fact that he is essentially extraneous given Barnes' emergence?
The 7 pick within TPE - is Nurk worth the 7?, not even remotely close on a sign and trade and lets not forget Centers (like Nurk) are now the least valuable position in the NBA, while 2-way wings the most valuable
You may not realize it, but you're coming off very combative here. I completely agree with you that OG is worth more than Nurk; that's why I said a swap of the two would be awesome. Toronto finished 5th in the east--and as mentioned, doesn't have a center--so I assume they'd value a win-now player a little more than a draft pick, but certainly the 7 has more value around the league than Nurk would. So operating under the supposition that Toronto wants a true center, and that they might be interested in Nurk, what assets (not including the 7) that the Blazers have and could offer do you think would bridge the value-gap between Nurk and OG?
I assume that since Siakam is still an all-NBA player, they're likely to want to hold onto him. But I certainly wouldn't be opposed to trading for Siakam if we could.
