I LOVE the OHS. And I wish they could move into much bigger quarters so they could display all the stuff they have. I'd love to see it all. Maybe I should be volunteering there....
Fez, I just spent almost 2 hours scrolling through All Things Portland. I absolutely loved all the photos, conceptual drawings, etc, etc that you posted. Thank you for that. I absolutely enjoyed every minute....not to mention the comments from the peanut gallery.
I actually went to Oregon Historical Society Museum a few years ago. I went to Kindergarten downtown so that was really cool and brought back memories.
Portland is becoming LA and LA is becoming Portland. :MARIS61: Getting a Blue Star and a Salt and Straw 10 minutes away from me. Haha
The craziest transformation is the Pearl District: 1990's: . Today (And this is just the tip of the iceberg):
"Portland nears deal for Post Office property in Pearl, with $80 million plan" "Portland is closer than ever to what officials call a "once in a generation opportunity" to buy the U.S. Postal Service's 14-acre headquarters in the Pearl District. Officials said it would be the most expensive urban renewal project in city history." http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2015/09/portland_closes_in_on_14_acre.html
What about the PPS property? I thought the MLB stadium at the MC site would be too tight a fit to make it work.
Yeah. And at the height of this recent economic boom the Multnomah County Area has been experiencing lately. What is the local commerce department's slogan for Stumptown, "Slip Away From the Mainstream - at 11 Bucks An Hour"
This is a really cool site that I use for work. If you're interested in keeping track of what's going on, or you see something in your neighborhood and you're curious about the project. http://www.nextportland.com/
