Did they ever decide on what they were going to use the Post Office campus in the Pearl for? I remember there were like 3 or 4 different ideas but I never heard the result..
Homeless camp. This will allow us to attract the best homeless people from the US and around the world. barfo
The expansion renderings wont be released for another week or two. I think this "stadium district" will be the next boom area after the Lloyd/Burnside area. The expansion alone is going to be a $50m investment! Speaking of Burnside -- This project is going to change the feel in this part of the district - even more so than the SkyLab project next door: . . . .. . Even the Towne Storage building is getting a full renovation: . . . 710 E. Burnside: . .
The PDC will shit themselves. Interesting 'on the boards' post office project feom Path Architecture. There will be a lot of boom areas in/around downtown -- this site will be the next high-rise boom area.
This area is FINALLY starting to get dense -- PSU is on a roll with their development of their campus. The $100m facility just a few blocks from the Koin Tower: Just a block away this is well underway as well:
Wow, I am reading through this now and stopped on the ash dusting. First, Fez, Thanks for this Great stuff so far!!! Much respect!@ However I had to stop at someone saying you were wrong about the dusting in Portland. I was on the street that morning playing on the edge of the front yard. I remember looking up and seeing it (NE Portland, Great views). I remember the next day a buildup on the edge of the yard where it met the street. Not much, but enough to scoop up a small vial and save it. I have three of them in a box in the garage.
A really cool city. I've got to visit. On my bucket list. Great Pictures. I noticed no debris on the streets.
Don't be fooled. Some of those pics are computer images of proposals done so well they look real. Portland definitely has its share of trash. With that said, I think we are a pretty cool city overall.
The blocks near the warerfront are a'booming - most of them haven't yet or they've just broke ground on their projects.
Burnside is on fire with all the development - with more in the pipeline. Final design - approved today by the PDC: . This was very early in their design - posting these for scale: .
