Back in the day Jack Burns aka Burns Brothers had their main truck stop on Grand Ave. and as a member of the Eastside Industrial Council was an outspoken member against disrupting the neighborhood. So were some of the other business owners in the area as I recall such as Jimmy Corno owner of Corno's Market!

Yes - there was an apartment - I was able to see it when they were auctioning off the inventory. As far as the rumors go I have no idea what was true and what wasn't although I had my suspicions.
